Walking Program :
Angie Reid, coordinator for the new walking program, grew up in Palm Springs and loves sharing her hometown ’ s sunshine and energy with others. She started a small walking group with friends and quickly saw how much joy and connection it brought to everyone involved. Angie exclaimed, “ Now, I am excited to bring that same spirit to the entire Outdoor Resort Palm Springs community. ” When not at ORPS, Angie and her husband Tim enjoy spending time at their home in Redondo Beach. Join her each week for fresh air, fun conversation, and a healthy start to the day—one step at a time. Contact Angie via email for details, angieeasyevents@gmail.com
There is a story of a husband whose wife was a believer in the Christ of Christmas, but he was not. He just couldn't accept this tale of God becoming a man. It sounded too far-fetched and magical and frankly, quite irrelevant to him. One snowy Christmas Eve his wife left for the local church service, as she usually did, and he, of course, remained at home. As he sat alone in his living room, he heard the sound of something hitting his front window. And then he heard it again. He looked out to see small birds flying into the glass of the window. They were obviously trying to escape the bitter cold outside. They were hoping to find saving warmth but they couldn't get in. What could he do to save them? Then he had an idea. He would go out and open the large barn doors, turn on the lights inside, and hope that the birds would find their way in. They would find warmth and be saved. But try as he might to get them to go into the place of safety, they didn't understand and wouldn't go in. He thought, "If only I could speak to them. If only I could become one of them and tell them the way to safety." Just then he heard the sound of the Christmas Eve bells ringing across the fields from the church. And then it hit him. That is what God did. He became one of us to show us the way to salvation. In fact, He was the way. And then it somehow all made sense to him, and he fell to his knees in the snow in wonder. "He became one of us to save us"
