It is hard to believe that another winter season is upon at ORPS. A great deal of time and effort has been spent this summer by our new GM, Synthia Salazar, and her team preparing the Resort for the arrival of our winter residents. On behalf of the Board I want to thank Synthia and her team for their dedication and commitment to making ORPS the best it can be. As you travel around the Resort you may notice some of the projects that were completed over the summer – refinished doors to the Owner ’ s Lounge, a new bridge to Hole 1 of the Big 18 golf course, new patio furniture for the Owner ’ s Lounge, a refurbished Satellite C (which should be open by the time this article is published), a golf course that was in tip-top shape for Opening Day, the conversion of the convenience store to a meeting room, a refurbished La Palma Café, a new pergola around the Starter Shack along with a refreshed look and many more updates around the Resort. Serena and her team along with the Lifestyle Committee have prepared a social calendar that caters to the many needs of our residents. Many favorites are back for another season (like Singo) along with free entertainment throughout the week as well as special events. For the active folks in the Resort we have pool aerobics and line dancing along with Tennis, Golf, Pickleball and Corn Hole just to name a few. And many groups meet on a regular basis to play cards and other Board games around the Resort. Abby Lomeli does a great job of keeping us informed of upcoming events through the Daily Planner. If you do not receive those notifications, please check in with the Front Office and make sure you are set up for our on-going notifications. As I close for this edition I want to thank all our volunteers who make ORPS the best place to be as we enjoy our winter months. Without our volunteers there would be no holiday decorations, ice cream social, burger night and golf tournaments just to name a few. And I would be remiss if I did not thank my fellow Directors on the Board. They work tirelessly with the goal of making ORPS the best place it can be. On behalf of the Board I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hanukkah and any other holiday you celebrate this month. And let ’ s have a fantastic 2025-2026 season.
