LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Dear Great Meadow Community,

ship Program and Heritage Club, our new Annual Membership Program. These programs create meaningful opportunities for businesses, families, and individuals to deepen their connection to Great Meadow while helping us sustain the land, facilities, and events that make this place so special. Adding to our new ventures, we are eager to welcome the world to Great Meadow next June for the inaugural Four Nations Cup, a premier international polo event that will showcase both the beauty of our grounds and the excellence of our equestrian heritage. It is a prime example of how Great Meadow continues to evolve while remaining true to its founding vision. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to express my sincere thanks to each of you - our supporters, sponsors, members, and friends. Your generosity ensures that Great Meadow continues to thrive as a gathering place for sport, celebration, and community. Together, we are preserving not only a piece of open space but a shared spirit of connection and tradition.

As we reflect on the close of 2025, I am deeply proud of all that Great Meadow has achieved this year, and profoundly grateful for the dedication of those who make it possible. Our Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners have worked tirelessly to sustain this extraordinary landscape and expand its impact forward. This year was one of growth, collaboration, and long-term vision. With new leadership and management in place, Great Meadow has continued to strengthen its operations, diversify its programming, and invest in critical infrastructure that supports our mission of open space preservation and community engagement. Together, we have not only maintained the high standards that define Great Meadow but also laid the groundwork for exciting new initiatives. A highlight of 2025 was the inaugural 40th Anniversary Gala, which brought together friends, supporters, and community leaders to celebrate four decades of Great Meadow. Thanks to your generosity, the event raised over $600,000, directly supporting the preservation of our fields, facilities, and programs. We are thrilled to continue this tradition with the 2026 Gala on October 3, another opportunity to celebrate our legacy and future. The Board has also been focused on ensuring that Great Meadow remains financially strong and strategically positioned for the years ahead. To that end, we are excited to launch two cornerstone initiatives for 2026: the Annual Corporate Sponsor-

LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

PULL QUOTE Dear Friends of Great Meadow, As 2025 comes to a close, our Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers extend heartfelt gratitude to each of you who support our mission. Together, we preserve this extraordinary open space and create unforgettable moments with our community. This year brought momentum and renewal. Building on the excitement of our 40th Anniversary, Great Meadow continued to grow as a premier destination for equestrian sport, outdoor recreation, and community celebration. We hosted more than 100 events and welcomed over 200,000 visitors. Highlights included the Virginia Gold Cup, Sunset Polo and Twilight Jumpers, our new Music in the Meadow concert series, and a Fourth of July celebration that drew families from across the region. Our equestrian calendar remained robust with the Old Tavern and Middleburg Orange County Pony Club Horse Trials, A Jump Above jumper shows, CDCTA dressage competitions, and the Veterans Cup charitable polo tournament. Behind the scenes, we invested in our racecourse and polo fields and added infrastructure for sustainable water management to strengthen our stewardship. We are at the highest point we've been since 2002. Congratulations to everyone! Looking ahead to 2026, we are thrilled to announce Great Meadow Polo, bringing a welcoming, family- friendly stadium polo experience on Saturday evenings May through September. We are also relaunching Great Meadow as a premier wedding venue, with a refreshed Summer House offering a stylish space for festive moments. And we’re introducing two new programs to energize support and engagement across our main pillars - conservation, equestrian sport, community, and education: The Annual Corporate Sponsorship Program offers businesses the opportunity to support Great Meadow year-round, aligning their brand with our signature events and community mission. The Heritage Club , our Annual Membership Program, provides a new way for individuals and families to take part in preserving this treasured space and engage with Great Meadow through exclusive benefits, event access, and community connection.

Both initiatives represent an important step forward in sustaining Great Meadow’s future and ensuring that our fields continue to inspire for generations to come. Our success builds on the generosity and engagement of our community. Whether through donations, sponsorships, memberships, volunteering, or simply attending an event, your involvement enhances this special place. Great Meadow belongs to all who cherish it, and together, we ensure its legacy endures.

Thank You For Being Part of Our Story.

With warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a bright new year,

Cynthia Jeffery Executive Director Great Meadow Foundation Cynthia Jeffery

A YEAR IN REVIEW

OFF TO THE RACES

On May 3, 2025, the Virginia Gold Cup celebrated its 100th running back at Great Meadow, aligning a centennial milestone with our 40th anniversary year. The result was a sellout crowd of more than 30,000 spectators and a race day that felt both classic and renewed. In the lead-up to the season, Great Meadow and the

S T E E P L E C H A

Virginia Gold Cup Association partnered on targeted upgrades to strengthen course quality and reliability. Two new wells now feed the retention ponds to secure irrigation in dry conditions, and a comprehensive turf rehabilitation program restored consistency and footing across key stretches of the course. The momentum carried through the fall with the 88th International Gold Cup on October 25, pairing stunning autumn scenery, stylish crowds and safe, thrilling races for a picture- perfect day. A temporary routing protected active construction zones while preserving the fan experience, and an advance schooling session gave jockeys and trainers a chance to preview adjustments. Feedback from horsemen, officials, and spectators highlighted improved turf resilience and flow through the turns. Together, the spring and fall races reinforced Great Meadow’s role as a premier home for steeplechase in Virginia. With the course stabilized, work will continue to widen the north and south turns and refine pitch. In collaboration with trainers and course consultants, we are commited to delivering a world-class surface, welcome fans to a trusted venue, and set top-standards for the next century of racing.

POLO SPOTLIGHT

From the excitement of the Sunset Polo Series , which drew thousands of spectators to Veterans Stadium on warm Saturday evenings, to the weekly grass matches on the Grand Prix field that honored the sport’s deep traditions, polo remains at the heart of Great Meadow’s equestrian culture. This year also saw the return of the Cloverleaf Charity Polo Classic , raising funds for local nonprofits and bringing together players and supporters for a day of spirited competition and philanthropy. Great Meadow was again proud to host the National Sporting Library & Museum Polo Classic , celebrating the enduring link between equestrian sport, art, and heritage. The Commander-in-Chief Cup at Great Meadow honored the proud tradition of military polo, bringing together teams from across the armed forces for a thrilling day of sport and ceremony. With service members, families, and supporters in attendance, the event celebrated camaraderie, athletic excellence, and Great Meadow’s deep connection to the military community. Our season culminated in November with the return of the Veterans Cup - an inspiring day honoring service members and their families through Polo with Purpose and the shared pride of community.

The polo heart will beat strong next year: Saturday evenings from May through September will launch Great Meadow Polo , bringing the beloved Sunset Polo experience fully under our roof. Expect fast-paced, spectator-friendly matches, elevated tailgating and premium boxes, family activities, live entertainment, and warm hospitality. In June, the Four Nations Cup will debut, adding the elegance, excitement, and high-powered flair of international polo to Great Meadow. Our goal is simple: honor Great Meadow’s polo tradition while making it even more welcoming for neighbors, newcomers, and devoted fans.

E Q U E S T R I A N P U R S U I

Beyond steeplechase and polo, Great Meadow hosts year-round equestrian pursuits that develop riders, welcome spectators, and strengthen the region’s horse community. In 2025 These programs again were delivered in collaboration with High Performance Equestrian Foundation, CDCTA, A Jump Above, Middleburg Orange County Pony Club, Old Tavern Horse Trials, and Ride Fauquier. Their expertise, dedication to the sport, and volunteer networks help us offer high-quality, safe, and accessible experiences for riders and fans.

Twilight Jumpers Friday nights under the lights: Each season, the Twilight Jumpers series combines thrilling show jumping with a relaxed, social atmosphere, featuring two invitational classes each

evening. Beyond the athletic competition, the event embodies a shared spirit of giving, with proceeds benefiting the High Performance Equestrian Foundation. Held on select Friday nights from May through September, Great Meadow has showcased this unique format since 2011 - now a beloved community tradition.

Great Meadow’s Inaugural Gala Raised Over $600,000

Honoring a Legacy & Building the Future A centerpiece of our 40th anniversary year was the Great Meadow Gala on June 25, an evening of glitz, glamour, and generous giving. Guests from across the region came together to celebrate our mission and support the work ahead. Silent and live auctions, a spirited paddle raise, and community sponsorships turned celebration into impact.

Two inaugural awards honored excellence and legacy: The Arthur W. Arundel Great Meadow Heritage Award , presented to the Arundel family for their remarkable contributions to land and nature conservancy. Great Meadow Spirit of Sport Award , presented to

The Big Boom, our annual Fourth of July celebration, was bigger and brighter this year. As part of our effort to reimagine public events beyond equestrian programming, the festival showcased what Great Meadow can be for Fauquier County and the region: a welcoming home for community gatherings of every size. More vendors and more entertainment created an all-day experience, including a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, a family fun zone, a Meadow Bar , delicious food trucks, and local merchants. More than 10,000 guests filled the grounds, visitors watched awe-inspiring model rocket launches and Flying Circus Air Show, and the evening closed with a spectacular fireworks finale that lit up the sky. We are already looking ahead to 2026, when the nation marks 250 years of American independence. Get ready for an even better Big Boom, with more features and a star- spangled celebration like no other!

The Veterans Cup returned as a purpose- driven polo showcase, uniting military families, veterans, and fans for a day of sport and gratitude. Competitive matches and on-site engagement with veteran organizations turned the field into a platform for impact. Most importantly, the Cup’s charitable impact is powering our mission to give back to those who serve. Through ticket sales, direct donations, hospitality and sponsorships, we raised funds for No Greater Sacrifice, The HOW Foundation, and The Station Foundation. Building on this momentum, Veterans Cup will grow in 2026 with added programming, deeper charitable partnerships, and more ways for guests and sponsors to give.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING

MUSIC IN THE MEADOW SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Spring/summer 2025 brought the launch of our new concert series - free and open to the public! Music in the Meadow turned summer evenings into shared experiences, with four standout bands on Members Hill and a rotating lineup of local food trucks. Families, friends, and neighbors filled the lawn to enjoy live music, good food, and an easygoing atmosphere. Music in the Meadow is a pilot initiative as we work to expand our community programming (plans for Movies in the Meadow are in the works). Stay tuned for 2026 announcements with more dates, new bands, and another season of family fun!

HUNTERS ASSOCIATION THE INAUGURAL HUNTER EXAM

The Hunter Games made their debut at Great Meadow in March 2025, transforming the grounds into the ultimate arena for strength, endurance, and strategy. A new event to Great Meadow, this high-stakes, elimination-style fitness competition drew athletes from across the U.S. and abroad to face grueling physical and mental challenges. Designed to test resilience and adaptability, only the top 1% of competitors earned the coveted title of “Pro Hunter.”

With its vast, diverse terrain and history of world-class events, Great Meadow proved the perfect setting for this one-of-a-kind test of human performance and determination.

A cornerstone of our community and cultural programming, the Virginia Scottish Games brings heritage and sport to Festival Hill at Great Meadow over Labor Day weekend. The 51 Games featured Highland Athletic Competition with professional athletes from across North America, along with Piping and Drumming, Highland Dance, Fiddling, and more. Each year, the event delivers an immersive, family-friendly experience that connects attendees to the music, pageantry, and athleticism of Scottish culture - right here at Great Meadow. st VIRGINIA SCOTTISH GAMES

COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING

An Experiential Classroom Under the Sky

In addition to iconic festivals like the Big Boom and the Virginia Scottish Games, Great Meadow was buzzing again with activity in 2025. On the educational front, we continued to champion STEM initiatives in partnership with the Aerospace Industries Association, the NOVA Foundation, and the Northern Virginia Association of Rocketry. Together, we hosted more than 11 rocketry events that engaged over 5,000 participants, giving students hands-on experience in design, safety, and launch operations. NOVAAR, one of the nation’s most active public model rocket clubs, flies monthly at Great Meadow and welcomes newcomers.

AIM HIGH. FLY HIGHER.

Each May, the American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) - the nation’s largest youth rocketry event - takes flight, inviting thousands of middle and high school teams from coast to coast to design, build, and launch model rockets in a high-stakes STEM showdown. In 2025, Team Boy Scouts Troop 74 of New Jersey soared to first place. After finishing first at ARC earned a spot competing on the International stage at the International Rocketry Challenge at the Paris Air Show, representing Team USA, where they came out on top winning against teams from the U.S., U.K., France and Japan.

OPEN TRAILS & HAPPY TAILS

CROSS COUNTRY MEETS

Supporting our student athletes, Great Meadow proudly hosted four high school cross country meets this year, welcoming teams from across the region to compete on the Meadow’s scenic grass courses. Each event emphasized sportsmanship, safety, and community spirit - with well-marked routes, trained volunteers, and plenty of space for families to cheer.

Since relaunching our Dog Walking Program in 2023, more than 200 members now enjoy Great Meadow’s 2.14-mile trail, hygiene stations, and open fields for off-leash exercise in designated areas. We also provide a safe training environment for partners such as Your Normal Dog and VA Search and Rescue. Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to community, activity, and connection for people and their canine companions.

12

LOOKING AHEAD

POLO GOES GLOBAL New in 2026, the inaugural Four Nations Cup will debut as a high-powered international tournament that showcases the sport’s iconic style and heritage. With Washington, D.C. next door, we are tapping into the international spirit of our region to cultivate friendly competition on the field and strenghten global ties across policy, cultural and business communities. The tournament will stand as a marquee event for Great Meadow and is sure to become a rallying point for sport, culture, and diplomacy in the Piedmont.

FOUR NATIONS CUP

TIE THE KNOT IN THE MEADOW

From sweeping meadows and breathtaking vistas to starlit receptions, the setting is picture-perfect. Great Meadow’s Summer Solstice Dinner, Saturday, June 20, will celebrate long light and local bounty.
