Dress Code An employee’s appearance plays a significant role in shaping the Company’s public image. All employees are expected to maintain cleanliness and good personal hygiene. Appropriate dress and grooming, with moderation and good taste, are required. An untidy appearance can diminish other positive qualities and negatively impact the Company’s image. Since employees represent the Company and may interact with customers, we ask that all employees avoid wearing excessive jewelry, strong perfumes, or tight or revealing clothing. Footwear worn at work should be durable and, if possible, feature an impact-resistant toe to help prevent foot injuries. Sturdy athletic shoes provide support, and their thick soles offer protection in all weather conditions to reduce the risk of injury. Solid shoes, with or without laces, are acceptable for work. Open-toed shoes, sandals, flip-flops, or shoes with untied laces are not allowed. Employees who fail to wear their required Company attire will be subject to disciplinary action, including possible dismissal. Management reserves the right of final decision regarding dress code issues. Telephone Employee personal phone calls and texts made or received should be made during break time or lunch time. Messages will be taken for employee calls received during business hours. For emergency calls and texts, please see your manager. Personal cell phone usage is not allowed during working hours (lunch and break periods are acceptable). Cell Phone and Radio In Vehicle Use Do not use your cell phone without a wireless ear piece or speaker while driving a commercial motor vehicle or personal vehicle. If a cell phone must be used in a hand-held manner, then pull over to the side of the road and park. Not using a hands-free device even while stopped in traffic or at a traffic light is a violation. Absolutely no texting while driving. No exception to these rules. If a work-related vehicle accident occurs, Auto-Wares Group may request telephone records to eliminate distracted driver allegations. Radios and other audio equipment are to be played at a normal acceptable level. Ear buds are not acceptable while driving a vehicle. You must be able to hear horns, as well as ambulance, fire, and police vehicles. Camera and Videophone Use Employees are not to take photographs or video images or recordings in the workplace or while performing job duties outside the workplace without a supervisor’s approval. Employees are prohibited from taking photos, videos, or audio recordings of coworkers, customers, or visitors in the workplace without obtaining explicit consent from the individuals involved.
