NOVEMBER TIPS OF THEMONTH Stairs are generally the fastest route up...the average person takes 10-20 seconds to climb a flight of stairs, however it takes an elevator on average 37 seconds to go up one story...so much for saving time in the elevator. Although it’s not a great calorie burner (only burning about 2.5 calories per flight), it does tone and strengthen butt, thigh, and calf muscles as well as lower “bad” (LDL) cholesterol. A quick trip up the stairs releases endorphins which improve mood and lower stress levels. So instead of wasting time waiting by the elevator, next time, do yourself a favor and take the stairs to a better you! There’s a “right” way to sleep A good night’s sleep is crucial to your health and well-being, but what if the way you sleep is negating the benefits of 8 hours of slumber. The key is spinal alignment...when you lay down in bed you should be in the same spinal alignment as when you are standing in good posture. Ear in line with the shoulder and hip, normal curve to neck and lower back, knees shoulder width apart. You can achieve this through the use of proper pillow height and positioning.

SIDE SLEEPER Firm, medium sized pillow under the head only. Pillow between the knees.
