soon enticed into Unity and New Thought movements in Los Angeles. About this time her three-year-old daughter was accidentally killed. Overcome with grief, she yielded to the solicitation of other friends and investigated Spirit ism, being told that she could communicate with her departed child. Meantime her health was breaking under the strain. Still groping and dissatisfied, she followed more advice and went to Angelus Temple. Her soul remained unsatisfied, however, until one morning, in the quiet of her own home, she was deeply convicted of her sin by simply reading the Word of God. She cried out to God for salvation; He heard and gave the heart-rest she had long sought. There came into her heart a deep hun ger for the Word of God. At this point she came in con tact with a woman who attended the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, through whom she was introduced to a Bible class taught by one of the Biola Bible women. Here she was taught to rightly divide the Word of truth .(2 Tim. 2:15 ). She is now firmly established in the Word and has ceased from her struggles and wandering. God has given to her a rich prayer life, with a real burden for other souls who are groping after light and peace as she once did. — -o— The Widening Ministry of the Correspondence School E NROLLMENTS in the many most practical and com prehensive correspondence courses are being re ceived at the office of the Correspondence School of the Institute. These enrollments come from all parts-of the world. During the month of January students enrolled from the following countries: Africa, Canada, Egypt, Ireland and Scotland. The present total enrollment of almost 2,000 students represents 30 foreign countries and almost every State in the Union. A teacher in a native Bible training school in Africa, upon completion of a course writes: “ The course has been a source of inspiration and blessing. Its value could not be estimated in money.” Another writes: “ The course is a splendid one and is being a blessing to me. I enjoy very greatly the way Dr. White has of expressing things and also the intensive study he requires.” When we think in terms of correspondence courses, we usually picture in our minds an individual seated at a table in the evening with textbooks and lessons spread out before him. And such is the case with the majority of such students. But as time goes on we are continually receiving requests from organized Bible classes for group enrollments using as a basis for study the material of one of our Correspondence Courses which is especially adapted to such study. At the beginning of the year a new class was organized in the Brethren Church of La Verne, California, in our course “ Thinking Through the Scriptures,” by Dr. W . P. White, President of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. This class meets every Monday night and is taught by the Pastor, Rev. A. L. Lynn. A trip up the Pacific Coast is now being planned by the Secretary of the Correspondence School for the express purpose of assisting churches in the organizing of such classes, In addition to study material, Mr. Pearce will carry with him a complete set of stereopticon slides por traying the life of the Institute and will show these pic tures in the churches where he goes. If interested, write Dr. Isaac P. Ward, Director Extension Department.

After a cup of tea and a good chat, in which one would have thought old^friends had met, dinner time came, but even in this the Bible women were not forgotten and were invited to have dinner with the women. After dinner autos were commandeered and twenty- three of the women accepted the invitation of the Super intendent of the Seamen’s Work to go to his home for a Gospel service and social time. The wife of the Super intendent and her little boy gave them a hearty welcome,. and what joy this welcome brought to these-women! A big fire burned in the fireplace which gave a real English homelike atmosphere, and which quite overcame the guests. An hour was spent singing the old favorite hymns followed by prayer, then a beautiful Gospel message was given by one of the Bible women. Hearts were touched as memories of the Gospel heard in earlier years, and in most cases neglected, came to them. One young woman accepted Christ as her Saviour, a backslider returned to the Lord, and many expressed in various ways the help and blessing they had received. After the service the hostess served refreshments, anc as the good-bys were said there were many expressions of gratitude and a looking forward to their return to our shores next year. They were then taken back to the ship in autos supplied through the kindness of friends who love to do service for the Lord. They were supplied with an abundance of literature which would keep their minds on the things they .had heard. Out of Darkness into Light O NE of the Bible women recently came in contact with a woman who had had a very sad history. She was feared by a godly father and mother. She was married at the early age of seventeen and before long was in such deep distress and- sorrow that she, in desperation, sought refuge in what ?he believed would be a havetf—the Roman Catholic church. But the actions of the priests soon disgusted her. Becaiise of some incident in her life that gave a little offense, she was refused communion in the church. Leaving that church, she listened to the advice of a friend who was studying Christian Science. Her physical need made, her an easy victim after her disease seemed to be arrested. For five years she studied Christian Science and sent her children to the Christian Science Sunday school. At the end of that period she was informed that she could not join the church, nor could her children attend, because she was a Baptized Roman Cath olic. Disappointed again in her search for rest, she was
