Bar Sterngold offers a wide variety of overdenture bar attachments solutions. When adequate restorative space is available, an excellent option is to secure the overdenture to a bar. Bar overdentures provide even distribution of occlusal forces created by the overdenture when placed over a given number of implants. In addition, it can allow for additional distal hinging capabilities in the posterior region thus extending the functional area of the prosthesis. The bar may contain any number or combination of attachments to secure the overdenture. These include the Sterngold Micro ERA and ERA Partial distal extension attachments, also the Stern Snap and Locator options. Several bar and clip solutions including the popular Hader Bar connection as well as the LV KON, LV HOR and LV OCAD, Dolder and Ackermann connections allowing for more lower profile final prostheses.

Partial Denture The choice in partial denture attachments is between Non-resilient and Resilient. Non-resilient (rigid) attachments are highly stable connectors with very slight movement in function. Some may be used for segmenting fixed partial dentures to simplify future case conversion to a removable restoration. In distal extension partial denture cases, occlusal forces are directed relatively evenly to both the abutment teeth and the edentulous ridge. Therefore, rigid attachments are kinder to the edentulous ridge than are resilient attachments. When abutment teeth are stable, rigid attachments are often the connectors of choice. Root Supported Partial Denture/Overdenture The overdenture attachment selection is often driven many times by the amount of restorative space available. If the patient presents with the opportunity to preserve natural teeth as part of the alveolar ridge, these root form attachments may serve as an excellent source of anchorage for the overdenture. Equally important is that root form attachments generally require the least amount restorative space of all other overdenture attachments. Sterngold offers several resilient and non-resilient root form attachments, including the ERA ® Overdenture and ERA ® Direct Overdenture options, based on the popular ERA ® technology. Other choices include the Stern Root Anchor and Dalla Bona attachment systems. Root supported overdentures and their attachments should always be considered an excellent restorative choice.
