Speech-language pathologists help children of all ages with various speech and language disorders. Speech-language pathologists treat children with articulation disorders, fluency disorders, social communication challenges, swallowing/feeding disorders, and language disorders. The initial evaluation will usually consist of a standardized test, observation through play, medical history information, and discussing parent concerns about your child’s communication needs. At least one parent should attend the initial evaluation. The first evaluation can take up to an hour to complete. Your child’s results and goals will be discussed and a treatment plan will be developed specifically for your child’s needs. We are here to help your child shine and provide them with the skills needed for home and school.
