Peterson Family College of Professional Studies Scholarship Autumn is a member of both United Council on Family Relations and the Stevens Point Assocation of Family and Consumer Sciences. She shadowed at the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center and hopes to work with children who have experience trauma and abuse. About the Award
About the Award This scholarship was established by Bessie May Allen, Director of the Home Economics Department at UWSP for 39 years. Bessie May Allen shaped the home economics program at UWSP. She was vital in keeping the program alive, bringing it back to campus after the Board of Regents had voted to eliminate it. Bessie May Allen Scholarship The Peterson Family CPS Scholarship Fund provides support for a student in the College of Professional Studies participating in a study or service abroad program or a cultural service program in the United States. Established by Dennis and Sharon Peterson of Waupaca, WI, the intent of the award is to give students the opportunity to develop their awareness and understanding of cultural traditions, lifestyles, or viewpoints that differ from their own.
