National Lifeguard - Pool Option (15+ years) Learn lifeguarding skills, principles, practices, and the decision- making processes that help lifeguards provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments. Practice aquatic industry standards, accident prevention, decision-making processes, and rescue skills. This is a 44-hour course which requires study and assignment completion outside of class time. Manuals and lifeguard kits are included in the cost of the course. This course is worth two grade 12 high school credits. Participants must be 15 years of age or older, hold a Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid Certificate. Successful candidates will be able to instruct and evaluate students in the Society’s Swim for Life and Canadian Swim Patrol levels. This course is 40 hours in length. Participants must be 15 years of age or older and hold a Bronze Cross. Presented by the Lifesaving Society. Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C (14+ years) Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. The course meets legislation requirements for provincial/ territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
