zPods Is Creating The Coolest Bed For Restless Children And Exhausted Parents! YouTube Vdeo -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWTp6sjGRQs

STUDIES ON THE HORIZON Just because we have kept ourselves from making medical claims does not mean that we’re not determined to explore the question of enclosure as a therapeutic on a scientific level. I’ve always wanted to see if we could break down the idea to some- thing we can measure and repeat against a given user profile. To that effect, we’ve already started gathering data by survey- ing parents from our first wave of sales and received help from a local university in interpreting that data. In our first sample, 13 parents of children with a diagnosis of ASD used zPods® beds for their child’s sleep for at least an average of 57 weeks and filled out a questionnaire regarding the ease of use and impact on sleep. One-hundred percent of respondents indicated that their zPod was “mostly” or “very” (~85%) easy to use. Eleven out of 13 participants reported that they were “mostly” or “very” satisfied with the use of the bed. All parents indicated that their children had multiple issues with sleep including difficulty initiating sleep (n=9), difficulty main- taining sleep (n=12), waking up earlier than desired (n=11),

waking up more than 3 times a night (n=7), nonrestorative sleep or poor sleep quality (n=8), sleep difficulties occurring more than 3 times per week (n=8) and lasting over 3 months (n=11). Parents also indicated the children displayed mood ir- ritability (n=9) and reduced energy, motivation, and initiative (n=7). With use of the zPods® bed, 12 out of 13 parents indi- cated that their child’s sleep was improved (slightly: n=2, sig- nificant improvement: n=10) and increases in sleep duration ranged from about 2 hours to 8 hours (post-treatment mean change in sleep duration = 4.1 hours ± 2.5 hours; post-treat- ment mean total sleep duration = 8.1 hours ± 1.7 hours). Ad- ditionally, 12 parents reported having at least one sleep related problem prior to their child’s use of their zPod, of which 11 re- ported improvements in their sleep following their child’s use of the zPod. The conclusion of our survey was that preliminary results in- dicate that zPods® may have the potential to improve sleep in children with ASD and, therefore, warrant further examination through pilot clinical trials. We’re still very careful not to over-
