over 20 years previously she’d suffered through a terrible bout with both Crohn’s disease and colitis which left her bedridden and in despair for her future. After months of suffering she experienced what she refers to as a “vision” that she believes not only helped her heal but also gave her a refreshed purpose and renewed personal motivation. She went on to recover and now, these many years later, has brought that vision to fruition with the creation of her own LLC dedicated to “ mental health wear and apparel”, her GIVEBAC (Getting Involved Visionary Excited Building All Colors) fashion line. And giving back is clearly a call, a commitment, and a vocation that Miss Perry lives on a daily basis. Working closely with both her Co-facilitator, Brian Drummond and her professional mentor Dr. Wash, Miss Perry looks ahead with determination and real joy as she plans to spearhead trauma focus groups and “to continue to grow as a social worker”. This is service we will all benefit from and a lesson we can all learn from as we all move forward. The formidable Miss Perry’s LSW/LASOP daily mantra? “Walk in your purpose, everyday” Her path is challenging indeed, but her purpose remains clear.
