Captain Yanic Crête would extend the lead early in the second period, giving the Nats a little extra space, to allow for a power-play goal from the Wolves, making it 3-2 for the Nats. While the first and second periods saw the Nats take 22 shots on goals compared to Renfrew’s 13, the Nats took a defensive position, absorbing 14 shots on goal from the Wolves and doling out just nine of their own. Despite the pressure the Nats held on to give them their 15th win of season. However, the following day the table would tilt in Renfrew’s favour as the teams faced off again on the Wolves’ home ice. The Wolves held on to a 3-0 lead for the first two periods of the game, despite several penalties against them. The Nats rallied in the third, bringing themselves within one point of tying the score thanks to goals from Kai Stothers and Vicor Barakett, but the Wolves would find the back of the net once more before the Nats’ Crête could put away the final goal of the night, bringing the final score to 4-3 for the Wolves. Next on the docket for the Nats is taking on the second-place Navan Grads on Wednesday, January 25, at home, followed by last-place Nepean on Friday. The Nats have yet to win a game against the Grads this season, but have had much more success againt Nepean, winning two out of their three meetings so far. Carson Turner a gardé le filet de Clarence Creek. Les Castors abattent les Aigles Clarence Creek accueillait les Aigles de Saint-Isidore samedi soir et a battu l’équipe visiteuse 8-5. Tristan Bolduc et Nicholas Gaumond ont marqué chacun deux buts et ont aidé sur un autre pendant le match. Les quatre autres buts de Clarence Creek ont été marqués par Alexandre Charlebois, Jacob Hill, Jacob Servant et Jack Thor. Charlebois, Servant, Brodie Chapman, Jacob Clement, Kyle Connell, Nikolas Guindon, et Corey Somers ont également aidé à marquer ces buts. Shane Morris a gardé le filet des Castors. Les Castors sont à Almonte le 28 janvier pour jouer contre l’Inferno. Ils reviennent à la maison dimanche pour accueillir les Rangers. Si leur série de victoires se poursuit, les Castors de Clarence Creek pourraient finir par prendre la tête du peloton dans la Ligue de hockey junior de la capitale nationale. Avec leurs deux dernières victoires ajou- tées à leur total de la saison, les Castors ont une série de sept victoires consécutives qui les maintient dans le groupe des trois premiers du classement de la Ligue de hoc- key junior de la capitale nationale (LHJCN). Avec 28 matchs joués jusqu’à présent et une fiche de résultats de 21 victoires, six défaites et un match nul, les Castors ont 43 points à leur actif. Ils sont assis à un point derrière les deux équipes de la LHJCN qui se disputent la première place au classement. Les Rangers de South Grenville ont joué 27 matchs et ont une fiche victorieuse et déficitaire de 21-4-2 pour 44 points au total. Ils sont talonnés par les Rockets de North Dundas, qui ont aussi 44 points et une fiche victorieuse et déficitaire de 21-6-2 après 29 parties jouées. Avec leur fiche victoires-défaites et deux matchs encore en main, les Rangers sont en meilleure position pour conserver la première place face aux Rockets.
