“Last year, Cooper lost one of its most talented, beloved, and admired leaders,” said Christopher Ault, chief revenue officer at Cooper. “When Linda received her diagnosis, she immediately began planning to ensure that everyone around her would be taken care of. She also wanted the next generation of Cooper team members to be supported. Through many conversations, planning, and tears, the Linda Brand Scholarship was born.” IN MEMORY OF COOPER’S LINDA BRAND (1948-2023) LINDA BRAND SCHOLARSHIP INAUGURAL RECIPIENTS CELEBRATION

$115K for LGBTQ+ Health raised at grand opening for new Collingswood location

“By establishing a presence in an LGBTQ+ affirming and friendly community such as Collingswood, we are better positioned to foster a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, providing a safe and welcoming environment for patients and their families to access the health care they need,” said Carman A. Ciervo, DO, chief physician executive of Cooper Care Alliance and The Cooper Foundation medical director of development.

“Almost half of the people in this country who identify as LGBTQ+ have experienced some form of health care discrimination, whether intentional or not, and this can be a huge deterrent to seeking preventative and/or life- saving health care,” said Justin Schweitzer, DO, medical director for LGBTQ+ Health at Cooper. “Cooper’s providers meet the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community and provide the specialized care they deserve.”

Co-hosts Mandy Huggard and Mary Ryan shared their passion for the Pink Roses Teal Magnolias movement and why they raise money for the fund. “I am a breast cancer survivor and Cooper has been instrumental in my care, and I’m super excited to be able to give back to the organization that helped me through the process,” event co-host Mandy Huggard told The Sun recently.

MAKE-A-WILL MONTH It’s a time to reflect on the importance of creating a plan for the future, not just for yourself and loved ones, but for causes or organizations that are important to you. As the saying goes, “where there’s a will, there’s

To avoid including such a plan in your taxable estate, we recommend using your successor beneficiary form to name The Cooper Foundation your beneficiary rather than including the plan in your will. a way” and many things can be achieved through a well-crafted estate plan . If you've already written your will, make now the time to review it. A will can easily be amended with a simple document called a codicil prepared by your attorney. Creating your will allows you to communicate important financial and healthcare decisions, so you and your loved ones are prepared for whatever the future may hold . A will allows you to provide for the people you love, so they will always be supported. By including an optional planned gift in your will, you can continue to support the causes you believe in.
