A New Year, a Renewed Commitment The Bonds That Strengthen Us
As we closed the chapter on 2024, I found myself thinking about a year that was truly memorable for many reasons. Among these recollections was the dedicated celebration of our 10th anniversary in service, a milestone that will always fill us with pride and gratitude, on the magnificent USS Orleck. Another standout moment of the year was our annual client Christmas party, held at an elegant ocean-view venue in Jacksonville Beach. The event was an amazing highlight, bringing both familiar and new faces together and forging new friendships. Adding to our joy was the post-29029 TRAIL Tahoe get-together, a fantastic recognition of goals achieved, filled with bingo, great food/ drinks, laughter, and shared stories of success. These enjoyable gatherings truly showcased the camaraderie and strong connections within our WRN community. 2024 was a monumental year for us as we recognized our ten years in service. It was a year filled with milestones, memories, and meaningful moments that reminded us of our incredible journey together. As we step into the new year, my thoughts revolve around the immense happiness and fulfillment our involvement with JaxPAL brings. Twice a year, our team engages with this impressive charity, and each interaction deepens the bond between us, our WRN community, and the JaxPAL family. Over the years, these children have become an extension of our WRN family. Watching them grow, mature, and achieve their dreams is as rewarding as guiding our clients on their own pathways to and through retirement. Just as we take satisfaction in seeing our clients reach their retirement goals, we cherish witnessing our positive impact on the lives of the children at JaxPAL. As we welcome the new year, we do so with a renewed vision, ready to embrace new circumstances, set new goals, and continue our mission of making a difference. We are looking forward to adding valuable content across all our platforms. Whether it’s through our
monthly Lunch-N-Learn events at the San Pablo location; our engaging social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn; our live interactive webinars and recorded TV segments; or our newly launched podcast series available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, we are focused on providing you with the knowledge and tools to navigate the course of your retirement with complete confidence. Setting resolutions is more than a tradition; it’s a commitment to actions that enhance our lives. By embracing these resolutions, we not only improve our present but also build a brighter future for ourselves and those around us. Together, we can share our visions to reach significant goals. Here’s to a new year filled with growth, learning, and joyful connections. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey and for embracing the essence of who we are. Your dedication to building lifelong partnerships with us is an honor. We look forward to another year of success, community, and shared accomplishments! Yours in Friendship and Service,

New Year, New Intentions RETHINKING ‘BIG GOALS’ FOR LASTING CHANGE
Have you created your New Year’s resolutions yet? If so, do you feel your goals are attainable? And how does that list serve you? Let’s be honest about our New Year’s resolutions. Based on our 2024 goals, we should all be in the best shape of our lives. We would have beaten our smoking habit, have zero debt, and knocked two destinations off our bucket list by now! Unfortunately, many of us deviate from the commitments we set for ourselves in January. If you can truthfully say your life is better now than last year, then celebrate to your heart’s content. However, if your life hasn’t changed much since last year, it may be worthwhile to revisit your list and consider the following additions.
Make an impact on someone else’s life. We’ve all got “stuff” going on in our lives, but maybe it’s time to pause and think about how to make someone else’s day. It can be as small as smiling at a stranger at the grocery store or sending “thinking of you” cards to friends and family. You’ll be surprised how doing for others will impact your own life. Adopt an attitude of gratitude. While we have so many things we could complain about, think about everything we have to be thankful for. The next time you start to complain about your job, be grateful you have one. Of course, gratitude isn’t always easy, but is it supposed to be? Even the slightest effort to adopt this mindset will change your life forever.
Embrace what’s meaningful to you. There’s no better time than the present to lean into what matters most to you. Tell someone you love them the moment you feel it, apologize quickly, and hug them often. The time is now; we don’t know how long we have on this Earth. These resolutions aren’t exactly fitness-focused, but they center on self-improvement for the long game. Be intentional with your resolutions. Remember, if you don’t put much thought into them, you will just as easily neglect them. Let’s be intentional in 2025!

ONE JAR OF FOOT CREAM SPARKED AN ONGOING 30- YEAR BUSINESS ADVENTURE At Wolf Retirement Navigation, we love seeing our clients live life to the fullest — pursuing dreams, building businesses, and making memories. Alida, an amazing client of ours and the founder of A & J Wellness Products, recently shared the inspiring story behind her success. The journey began in 1994 when, as a person with Type 1 diabetes dealing with cracked and sore feet, she was gifted a jar of Bette K’s New Feet foot cream. After just a week of using the natural product, she noticed a significant improvement. Motivated by the results, Alida reached out to Bette, determined to represent her company and its natural products.

With just one small display box holding 12 jars of foot cream, she hit the road, tagging along on her husband John’s business trips. Her strategy was simple: Give each store a sample to try. By the end of her first day, 10 stores had placed orders. When she called Bette to share the news, Bette was thrilled and said, “You hit the jackpot!” From there, her business expanded, and she added different products like Danish wine accessories, French candy tins, and even Pool Noodles — long before they were a staple at well-known stores. When John retired in 2000, they sold everything and embraced a life at sea. They lived on a 33-foot sailboat for seven years before upgrading to a 42-foot sailboat for another 13 years. Business didn’t stop — she continued building her brand, bought a motorhome, and traveled the West Coast and Midwest. In 2019, they settled in Jacksonville and transitioned from life on the water to living on solid ground as “C.L.O.D.s” (Cruisers Living On Dirt). With a real office and air conditioning, she now represents three family-run businesses and supplies 500 independent health stores, pharmacies, and marine shops nationwide. Alida is the perfect example of what can become of a dream, a passion, all the while having tons of fun along the way! The right mindset can take you anywhere! We are so proud to call Alida a member of our WRN family!

An Unforgettable Tropical Paradise DISCOVER PANAMA
The Central American country of Panama, home to the titular Panama Canal that allows easy passage of maritime traffic between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, is more than a hub for international trade: It’s a scenic tropical paradise. Just 30,000 square miles in size — smaller than South Carolina — Panama packs a lot of incredible sites into one compact package. The country uses the American dollar, so you don’t need to exchange currency to make a worthwhile trip there. Here are three locations you can look forward to on your vacation to Panama! Panama City Founded in 1519, Panama’s capital is a metropolis amidst lush tropical rainforests. Around 40% of the country’s population resides in the city, which is full of amazing historical and entertainment districts that attract tourists worldwide. The Casco Viejo historical district, comprised of Spanish colonial architecture, was named a World Heritage site in 1997.
Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park This amazing national park, established in 1988, covers over 50 square miles and over 130 islands of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago, including the popular coral reefs of the Cayos Zapatillas. If you are interested in rubbing shoulders with monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, and countless marine species, this is the spot for you! Panama Canal No list would be complete without mentioning one of the greatest engineering feats in human history: the Panama Canal. The canal, which runs for roughly 40 miles through the Isthmus of Panama, was completed in August 1914, just a month after the outbreak of World War I. The canal works via a system of locks, filled and emptied of water to raise and lower boats. Ships up to 950 feet long transport over 200 million tons of cargo annually through the canal. If you visit Panama, you have to see the canal for yourself!
