+ C216 has a lot to him! He’s level topped, attractive, and got the classic pattern stamped by General Lee. He tied as the 8 th top weaning weight bull of the crop! + This high growth bull is recommended for use on cows. + Dam S241 is a fertile girl with a 364 day calving interval. Her son works for long- time repeat customer Roger Cerven and her daughter works in our herd. + Please read about grandam P241 in the footnote of Lot 19. + Starting with P241 and tracing down the dam’s side of this pedigree, there are four consecutive Pathfinder cows – these are some highly productive, fertile cows!

+ C124 is a nicely made bull, extended through his front and great for calving ease! + C124 ties as the 3 rd top CED EPD bull to sell and has one of the lowest BW EPDs! He is certainly safe for use on heifers. + Dam A258 was a superior uddered first calf heifer with C124. + Grandam V96 is a pretty 38 Special daughter whose first son works for Lewis Klein. My calving book notes say she is a good cow to work with at calving time. She has a 362 day calving interval. + Great grandam R251 is an easy-going cow that has raised sons for Eddie Coyle, 66 Ranches, and Max Shaffer averaging $11,850 at auction! She is a low birth weight cow whose calves get right up and grow rapidly.

+ C208 is a thick, good muscled bull with plenty of body. He has a small head to aid in calving ease. + C208 is recommended for use on cows. + C208 has the #1 Marbling EPD in the sale! If you feed out your steers or retain ownership and sell them on a grade and yield grid, consider this bull – he would be one of my top picks for that scenario! + Dam Z454 is a pretty amazing cow – she was born twin to a bull (about 90% of heifers born twin to a bull are sterile), and she successfully settled first service AI! Furthermore, she had twins herself! There must have been something in the water, because last spring we had 5 sets of twins in our 2 year-old females – I’m sure that’s never happened during my tenure at Hoover Angus! + Z454’s boxes above are blank for birth, wean, and yearling ratios because the AAA does not include twins in a dam’s production ratios. + Pathfinder grandam P241’s three daughters average a tremendous 106 wean ratio on their progeny – I think this is the best set of daughters among all cows in our herd! + P241’s sons work for Darrell Wagoner and Mark Holt. + P241 weaned at 753 pounds to be the #1 weaning weight heifer of her crop! + Pathfinder great grandam L89 was an excellent uddered cow with a 362 day calving interval and a whopping 5-140 IMF ratio! She put four replacement daughters in the herd.
Today is Grandpa John’s funeral and we are going to sing the National Anthem. Gwen wrote the above note before she and Ty sang the Star Spangled Banner at John’s funeral.
