+ C269 is a long bodied bull with added frame. C269 is the youngest bull in the auction, and experience tells me that these younger bulls are a little less expensive, but of course still great genetic potential and value for the money! + C269 is best suited for use on cows. + Dam V95 produced the 10 th top weaning weight bull of our 2022 crop that sold to repeat customers Craig & Karri Miller. Her first daughter works in the Hoover herd, and her second daughter is also going into the replacement herd this spring. + Grandam S31 is a beautiful uddered cow that had back-to-back sets of twins and a 362 day calving interval. Progeny work for Matt Rea, Colin Cleary and Preston Poots Jacobsen. Another daughter will be going into our replacement herd this spring. + Please read about tremendous great grandam, a Pathfinder and donor, C344, in the footnote of Lot 26. + Lots 24-27 all descend from the great C57 cow who has had a tremendous impact on our herd.

+ C59 is a big framed, long bodied, brute of a bull that will sire a lot of pounds! He’s one of my favorites. He’ll add frame, performance, and $$ to his calf crop. + C59 was an IVF ET calf (therefore ratio 100 at weaning), but was the #1 weaning weight ET calf of the crop and also beat out all the non-ET calves to be the heaviest calf of the entire crop! + Flush brother to Lot 28. Take home both of these high growth bulls to run in the same pasture of cows for a uniform set of calves! Both these beefy bulls are recommended for use on cows. + These bulls have quite high growth EPDs despite the age of their parents – dam C50 would be 21 years old if still living and 38 Special would be 10! As we know, EPDs favor younger generations over older ones, regardless of true performance. These two flush brothers will undoubtedly add pounds of growth! + Pathfinder donor dam is the phenomenal C50 cow – regarded as the 2 nd best cow ever in production at Hoover Angus! The following is an extremely condensed version of her successes. At just a couple short months away from 17 years of age, we laid C50 to rest north of our bull barn, next to the other greats like CC&7, Gridiron, Bullseye, and G366. She exemplified longevity. + Prior to holding C50 out of production for one year to flush her, she had a 363 day calving interval on her 13 natural progeny, which included stealing flushes 6 different years! C50 weaned her 14 th natural calf at over 16 years of age! + C50 was a superior uddered cow even into old age, and offered foot and structure quality rarely found. She grossed over a quarter million dollars in registered progeny sales. C50 has an amazing three Pathfinder daughters, two of which have served as Hoover donors. Thirty-four sons of C50 have come to auction at Hoover Angus; Lots 28-29 will be her last.

+ C15 is a super long bodied, big scrotal, classic 38 Special son out of the most highly proven cow at Hoover Angus. He’s probably the last 38 Special son to come to auction at Hoover Angus – they had a tremendous run – 116 sons averaged $8116 at Hoover Angus! + Flush brother to Lot 29 – please see footnote there. Take home both of these big framed, high growth bulls to run in the same pasture of cows for a uniform set of calves! Both bulls are recommended for use on cows. The Toolbox If you look in your toolbox for wrench to tighten a nut, but the only tools in your toolbox are a hammer and a tape measure, you aren’t going to get that bolt tightened very well. Or maybe you need to cut netwrap off your baler’s roller, yet all you have in your toolbox are wrenches and a prybar. Different tasks require different tools, and unless you have the proper tool, you are likely to be unsuccessful. In the Hoover Angus catalog, we provide you with many tools – many EPDs, measurements, footnotes, and educational boxes like this one. Not every tool is valuable to every person, just like you don’t need every tool to tighten a nut or cut netwrap. Many people appreciate the vast amount of data, and for others, it is simply too much. If you are the latter, make note of your top 3 priorities in a bull, then take a highlighter to highlight these traits and make it easier to focus on the traits of importance to your herd.
