+ C24 is a big framed, long, rugged, thick bull with added bone and nice style. He was the 13 th top weaning weight bull of his crop! The commercial guys will find him for his size and growth! + C24 ties as the 3 rd top CED EPD bull to sell! Use him on larger framed, well- developed heifers or cows. Check out his CED and BW EPD to WW EPD spread! + Dam N112 is a hard working gal with 9 calves at a 361 day calving interval – I call that fertility! She’ll turn 11 years old right after our sale and is still doing great. She’s in the lot to calve as I am writing this footnote, I just noticed her on the calving camera! I’m hoping she gives us a heifer – her only daughter in our herd, a Pathfinder, is doing a superior job and raised the Lot 44 bull. + N112’s progeny work for Eagle Grip Cattle Co., Abernathy Ranches, Randy Euken, and Gordon Houser.

+ You’ll find nice muscle and length in this slick haired bull. Certainly safe for heifers, you can use him on heifers for a couple years, then move him up to the position of main herd sire without sacrificing any growth! + C172 has the 4 th top Marbling EPD of any bull selling – he’s a good choice if you feed out your steers and sell them on the grid or retain ownership! + Dam V217 has earned Pathfinder honors for her excellent calving interval of 364 days and her high 4-107 WR. Even better, she does this with below average birth weight ratios on her progeny! V217’s first progeny work for David Igo (a photo feature) and the team of Randy Euken & Steve Myers – this bull was the 3 rd top weaning weight bull of his crop. Randy Euken reported recently that ever since he started buying Hoover bulls, he hasn’t noticed feet problems in his bulls anymore. + V217 is a 15 th generation female to be bred, born and raised by the Hoover family! V217 was the 3 rd top IMF scanning female of her crop. + Please read about grandam N112 in the footnote of her stout, high growth son, Lot 45.

+ C99 is a large framed bull whose Yearling Height (YH) EPD agrees he will add some frame to his calves. Although he has a small head to aid in calving ease, his actual birth weight makes him a bull likely best suited for use on cows. + Dam V60 has a 361 day calving interval. Her sons work for Robert Wetzel and Russell & Sharon Kelley – Kelley’s bull was the 2 nd top IMF scanning bull of our 2023 sale. + V60 serves as the herd’s 2 nd top IMF ratio cow with a whopping 2-150 IMF ratio! She herself scanned a 6.32 IMF, ratio 142. + Great grandam K78’s first daughter earned Pathfinder status, and two other daughters were retained in the herd. + This cow family goes back to the old J327 cow – ask Joy about her, she was one of the greatest cows of the 1990’s at Hoover Angus! Sound, fertile, and long-lasting! Our spring bull calves weaned off about 50 pounds heavier than last year, and therefore we elected to develop them a little slower up to yearling time. Bulls were fed a growing ration of 42 mCal to allow the bulls to grow appropriately, yet not get over fat, as there are numerous problems with over-conditioned bulls. Our goal is to make sound, fertile, long-lasting bulls for our customers and not simply huge yearling weight bulls!
Spring 2024 bull calves on day 2 of weaning enjoying their ration!
