+ C149 is a long bodied, easy fleshing bull. + I have in my calving book notes that he was a “beautiful calf” at birth! + C149 ties as the 2 nd lowest BW EPD bull selling – a sure-fire heifer bull! + C149 ties with the 2 nd highest Heifer Pregnancy (HP) EPD in the yearling bulls. + Dam V487 has given us three sons and no daughters! Her first two sons work for Zach Pacha and Dwight Schomberg. Dwight’s bull was the 10 th top weaning weight bull of his crop. V487 has a 363 day calving interval. + Grandam N74 was a deep, broody cow that was always easy fleshing. N74 produced sons for repeat customers Eddie LaBoube and Curt Johnson. + Great grandam was a highly productive cow that raised several calves that came to the top of their crop for weaning weight. Her four progeny at auction averaged $8950, three of which were photo features.

+ Eight Pathfinders are found in C149’s three-generation pedigree! + Lot 58 also comes from this highly successful Ida cow family.

+ C51 is the #1 weaning weight bull of his crop! + C51 ties as the 3 rd top CEM EPD bull to sell! Despite CED and BW EPDs that could potentially be used on heifers, I’ll rather be safe than sorry and recommend this super high growth bull for use on cows. + C51 is the third photo feature son produced by his dam, P295! + Pathfinder dam P295 is low birth weight cow whose calves have super growth. She has an excellent 363 day calving interval on her 8 progeny, so she has done her job well! The only thing I would change is her bull:heifer ratio. It’s 7:1. Her only daughter settled first service AI and is going into the replacement herd and will calve for the first time this spring. + P295’s progeny work for Steve Norris & Shannon Rusk, Tom Loehner, Mike Curtis, Don Cranston and Gordon Houser. + Great grandam H6 was the #1 weaning weight, #2 yearling weight heifer of her crop and sold as the lead-off bred heifer in our 2011 auction for $33,500 to KDS Angus. We retained one flush on this great female to get L73.

The Pathfinder Honor To become a Pathfinder cow, she must have at least 3 progeny with an average weaning ratio of 105. A cow must have a regular calving interval and her first calf must be born close to the average calving date of the herd. These requirements, along with others, make the “Pathfinder” name a prestigious honor designated by the American Angus Association. A bull must have at least 5 Pathfinder daughters in one year to become a Pathfinder sire. Pathfinders are designated by the “#” symbol in pedigrees. Once a Pathfinder, always a Pathfinder, although a bull or cow may not be included in the current year’s report because they don’t meet the requirements that year. In the 2024 Pathfinder Report, Hoover Angus is home to nine Pathfinder sires: Hoover Dam, Hoover Elation, SydGen CC&7, Baldridge 38 Special, Mogck Bullseye, Bruns Top Cut 373, Basin Excitement, Connealy Counselor, and Connealy Commander.
