+ C38 is a tank! He’s got length, body, and thickness! He has a different pedigree for many of our repeat customers. Genomics shows him very favorable for calving ease – use him on heifers or cows. + Dam Z225 was a second calver with C38. She has the shortest calving interval in the herd at 342 days and is a good mom at calving time. + Z225 is a 16 th generation Blueblood Lady Ellston female to be bred, born, and raised at Hoover Angus, by the Hoover family. She traces back to Walt Hoover’s foundational sire, Revolutions Bell Boy, who naturally sired calves until 14 years of age! Bell Boy was a great grandson of the famous Earl Marshall bull. + Pathfinder grandam N13 had 8 calves at a superior 363 day calving interval, showing her excellent fertility. Her sons work for Brad Ayers, Brad Hoffman, Mark Dykes, and Steven Young. Mark’s bull was one of the top weaning weight bulls of

Foot Scores, Claw and Angle EPDs Hoover Angus is committed to the breeding of Angus cattle through simultaneous improvement of a multitude of different traits. One of those traits is foot quality. Hoover Angus was one of the first breeders submitting foot scores when the American Angus Association started accepting this data in 2014. Since then, Hoover Angus has submitted foot scores on over 2900 animals with a high level of scrutiny. Foot integrity is an important aspect of longevity, and we do our best to measure, eliminate problems, and continually breed for improved foot structure. For both Claw and Angle, lower EPDs are more favorable. Breed average Claw EPD for non-parent bulls is +.49; Angle EPD is +.47. Lower EPDs for Claw Set indicate an animal should produce progeny with toes that are symmetrical, even, and appropriately spaced. Lower Foot Angle EPDs indicate an animal should produce progeny with a 45 degree angle at the pastern joint with appropriate length of toe and heel depth.

+ C236 was the 2 nd top weaning weight bull of the crop! He is a big framed, wide based, nice bull. C236 offers one of the highest WW and YW EPDs in the sale! Despite his growth, genomics puts him solidly in the “heifer bull” category. Use him on heifers, then turn him into your main herd sire without sacrificing growth when he gets older. + Dam A182 was a first calf heifer with C236, and I’d say she did a might fine job! Even better, she is due to calve three weeks earlier this year! + Grandam S82 has a 361 day calving interval. Her first daughter was a beautiful photo feature going to West Virginia to repeat customer Jeremy Rudolph. Her son works for Roger Cerven. + I have to mention fourth generation dam Z99. Three sets of high performing twins were not included in her 5-117 WR. 17 progeny (natural and ET) have averaged a ribeye scan that is over three inches above breed average! Four of Z99’s progeny to come to auction were photo features.
