+ B428 is a good, dense bull that can be used on heifers or cows. He’s thick, has lots of lean meat (he was the 3 rd largest ribeye scanning bull of his crop), a big scrotal, and a crest on his neck. + B428 has a different pedigree for the vast majority of our repeat customers. + Dam T409 has a 364 day calving interval on her 4 progeny. Her first daughter works for Martens Angus Farms and her daughter she is raising right now will be retained as her replacement. + T409 was the 3 rd top yearling weight heifer of her crop. + Grandam P414 earned Pathfinder status for her early calving, high growth progeny, and continued fertility. + Fourth generation dam was the dam of Hoover Home Run, the bull with a tenure at the ORIgen bull stud. Also from this cow family came Hoover Dam!

+ B480 is a high growth bull that is square made and has a big scrotal. He was the 2 nd top weaning weight and 5 th top yearling weight bull of his crop! + B480’s small head will aid in calving ease – use him on large framed, well-developed heifers or cows. + B480 has one of the top Docility EPDs among the bulls selling, and I would agree – we have noticed he is a calm bull when processing bulls through the chute. B480 ties with the 2 nd highest YW EPD in the fall bulls and has one of the best Hair Shed EPDs in the sale. He also offers the 4 th highest $C. + Dam X469 has a 348 day calving interval on her two progeny. She is a bigger stature female with the power and performance of No Doubt combined with the most successful cow family at Hoover Angus. Better yet, she has some of the lowest birth weight ratios of any cow in the herd! + Pathfinder donor grandam M38 is the highest indexing daughter of G366, the cow regarded as the best cow in our 97-year history! M38 was at one time the #1 indexing cow of the Hoover herd with the tremendous growth she puts into her calves. She served as a working donor until 11 years of age. The following is a very abbreviated list of highlights – listing everything would fill even more of the page with text! + At 10 years of age, M38’s progeny and grand progeny led-off our 2023 sale catalog and included the 2 nd and 3 rd top-selling bulls of the sale! + M38 has been a fertile cow, recording a 355 day calving interval on her first 5 calves before we pulled her out of production for a year to flush her. She is an icon in the herd for her unbeatable depth of body and broodiness. She makes feminine daughters and masculine bulls. + M38’s daughters are following in her footsteps of being highly productive, fertile cows. Most famous is her R96 daughter – the dam of the great Erica of Ellston T220 cow who has now put several sons in bull studs and has gained recognition across the breed. T220 daughters are donors in some of the most progressive herds in the country! R96 serves as the 3 rd top indexing cow of the Hoover herd with a superior 5-111 wean ratio on her progeny! Her embryos sell at the back of this catalog. + Another M38 daughter in our herd weaned the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer calf of our 2023 crop – she sells as Lot 108! + One of M38’s daughters sold ½ interest to Mill Coulee Angus in Wisconsin. She was my favorite heifer of the crop – having a beautiful presence, and all the pieces necessary to become the next “great one” from the Erica cow family! + A full sister to M38 serves as a working Pathfinder donor in the Hoover herd. This cow, N54, has put one of her own Pathfinder daughters in the herd plus one daughter serving as a working donor. N54 has exported embryos to Australia. + Please read about Pathfinder donor great grandam G366 on page 7. Fall bulls Lots 80-83 also descend from G366. + The Ericas have been a dominant force of our top-end genetics for many years. They have proven themselves the hard way – the old-fashioned way – by progeny performance and success. Six of the past 8 years, sons of the Ericas have been the Lot 1 bulls in our sales. In our 2021 auction, of the 8 animals that hit the $20,000+ price tag, 6 of them were from the Erica cow family.

+ B496 is a really long bodied bull with nice extension through his front. He is recommended for use on heifers or cows. + B496 had a nice ultrasound scan – he was not only big ribeye, but he was the 5 th top IMF scanning bull of his crop! B496 ties as the 2 nd highest Ribeye EPD among the fall bulls selling! + Dam R251 is an easy-going cow that has raised sons for Eddie Coyle, 66 Ranches, and Max Shaffer. She is a low birth weight cow whose calves get right up and grow rapidly. + Grandam N1 was a neat uddered cow that put two replacement daughters in the herd. + Great grandam G216 produced the $26,000 Hoover Quintain! Quintain was the #1 weaning weight bull calf of his crop and the 3 rd top selling bull of our sale. G216 was no stranger to weaning top calves or bringing featured sons to auction, as another son was the 2 nd top-selling bull of our 2012 sale! + This Erica cow family is the same family that produced Hoover Dam, Hoover Home Run, and 8 other bulls in stud! + Nine Pathfinders are found in B496’s three generation pedigree!

That’s a lot of needles! To the left are the full sharps jars from our 2024 weaning vaccinations. Our commitment to herd health: - We use clean needle procedures whereby a sterile needle is used for every injection - We have operated a closed cow herd for 20+ years (only bringing in new sires, which have a full slate of health testing performed prior to herd entry) - Our entire 2023-2024 calf crops were ear notched for BVD with zero positives - Our entire cow herd is tested (and negative) of Johne’s on a yearly basis - No cooperator herds - all calves are bred, born, and raised at Hoover Angus
