★ Ultrasound safe to Deep Creek Legitimate 203, due approximately March 18, 2025. ★ B34 is a deep, really easy fleshing heifer with nice thickness. She ought to have a dandy Legitimate calf! ★ B34 has one of the lowest BW EPDs, highest CEM EPDs, and 2 nd highest HP EPD of the females selling today! ★ B34’s Functional Longevity EPD (FL) is +1.14. ★ Dam N16 is still going strong and by the time this catalog prints, she will have turned 11 years old! She still has an excellent udder, typical of the Ericas, and a superb 364 day calving interval on her 9 calves. For those interested in the new Functional Longevity EPD, N16 fares well above breed average with a +1.13 FL EPD. ★ N16’s progeny work for Alex Swanstrom, Tracy Shaffer, David Deal, and Greg Fischer. ★ Grandam G366 is regarded as the best cow in our 97-year history. Please read more about her in the box on page 47. Females Lots 108-112 and 167-173 all descend from G366 as well as embryos selling on page 76.

★ Ultrasound safe to Mead Mercury, due approximately March 23, 2025. ★ B302 is a large framed female with superior length of body from the tremendous Erica cow family. She is a high growth female that tied as the 6 th top weaning weight heifer of her crop! She had a nice IMF scan and over one inch of ribeye per hundred pounds of body weight. ★ B302 is a calm disposition, slick haired heifer – two important traits at Hoover Angus. ★ B302 has the 3 rd highest Heifer Pregnancy (HP) EPD among the spring bred heifers! ★ Pathfinder working donor dam P44 has brought three photo featured sons to auction. Her sons work for Brian Taglauer, Alta Genetics, Salt Fork Angus, Craig Eshelman, and Brice Erickson, all repeat customers. ★ P44 is the 7 th top indexing cow of the Hoover herd with an excellent 7-109 wean ratio on her progeny. Several of her calves have been among the top 10 weaning weight calves of their crop. ★ Ten progeny of grandam L5 sold by Hoover Angus averaged a whopping $24,100! Sons from Hoover Angus worked at three AI studs: Alta Genetics, Select Sires, and Accelerated Genetics. After a successful career at Hoover Angus, L5 was purchased by Baldridge Performance Angus as a donor cow. ★ L5 now has four Pathfinder daughters – two working Pathfinder donors in the Hoover herd; two in the Baldridge herd! ★ Three other daughters of L5 have been flushed at Hoover Angus. Another daughter of L5 sold ½ interest for $35,000 to Mountain View Ranch in Tennessee. ★ Great grandam G366 is regarded as the best cow in our history – read more about her in the box on page 47. ★ Four direct daughters of G366 have earned the Pathfinder designation, and at least 15 of her daughter descendants have served as donors. ★ Lots 108-112 all stem from this phenomenal Erica cow family. EPDs & Accuracy EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences) are objective, science-based predictions created by an independent third party (the American Angus Association) used to help describe the Angus cattle population. More specifically, they are used to describe an animal’s progeny relative to another animal’s progeny . The Accuracy (Acc) of an EPD tells its reliability. Accuracy is impacted by weights and measures submitted to the American Angus Association genetic evaluation, including the animal’s own record for the trait, ancestral records, and genomics. As animal’s Accuracy increases with increased progeny records submitted to the evaluation. Think of Accuracy as a confidence level we have in the EPDs presented. Young animals certainly have a lower Accuracy level than proven sires, yet all young animals do NOT have EPDs of the same Accuracy and predictive power. The most accurate EPDs come from herds that

★ Ultrasound safe to Mogck Empire 110, due approximately February 26, 2025. ★ B300 is a bigger framed gal with still plenty of body to go along with it. She is certainly legal for registry, but she does have white on her udder. She has a nicely balanced set of EPDs and is one of the top CEM EPD females to sell. ★ Dam X84 is an excellent uddered female with a 358 day calving interval on her first two calves. Her son was selected by Dave Petty. ★ Pathfinder grandam L89 was also an excellent uddered cow whose first daughter earned Pathfinder honors in the Hoover herd. One L89 daughter was the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer of her crop. ★ L89, as well as her dam and grandam each earned Pathfinder status to make it three-in-a-row – a very rare find! This is a testament to the true cow power and fertility in these females. ★ Great grandam E250 was an extremely successful cow and served as a working donor. Two of her daughters were the #1 IMF scanning females of their crop, and one son was #1! ★ E250’s dam is B235 – who is also the grandam of the G366 cow – she has a mighty strong influence in today’s sale, including bred heifers Lots 108-112!
have taken advantage of complete and factual performance testing and submission and genomics. These things are necessary to build Accuracy (reliability) in the EPDs and give cattlemen the piece of mind that when they buy a bull, his progeny are reasonably similar what his EPDs describe him to be. At Hoover Angus, the genetics you purchase have strong Accuracies because of generations of complete performance testing!
