★ Ultrasound safe to Mogck Empire 110, due approximately February 22, 2025. ★ B213 is a long, smooth-walking, high marbling heifer. She was the 5 th top IMF scanning heifer of her crop! ★ B213 is a slick haired heifer, which is important for those of us grazing endophyte- infected fescue. She ties as the 4 th lowest (best) Hair Shed (HS) EPD among the females selling today and has one of the highest Scrotal EPDs! B213 also ties as the #1 Milk EPD female! ★ Dam Z48 was a first calf heifer with B213. Her next calf is an excellent Legitimate son selling as Lot 74 – he has been a standout since before weaning. He tied as the 15 th top weaning weight bull of his crop. ★ Grandam P282 recorded a 361 day calving interval at the end of her career. She produced one featured daughter and three replacement daughters in the Hoover herd. ★ Great grandam C109 served as the herd’s 13 th top indexing cow at the time of her passing – the oldest cow on this prestigious list! She recorded 10-97 BWR, 10-109 WR, 10-106 YR with a 361 day calving interval on 11 pregnancies (a set of high performing twins are not included in her ratios). She was the dam of the $25,000 Hoover Headliner. ★ C109 was one of only a handful of donor cows that have earned a burial spot north of our bull barn. She and her sire, Gridiron, had highly successful careers at Hoover Angus, and were buried in the same grave on the same day. She is regarded as one of the best cows in our history.

★ Ultrasound safe to Mead Mercury, due approximately March 18, 2025. ★ B172 is a square made, nice quartered heifer that is slow and easy going. ★ We watch our calving cows closely during peak calving season, but even then, an occasional cow will calve so quickly we fail to get her into a calving pen before she calves – and that was the case when B172 was born. No calving problem there! ★ Dam V100 has a daughter working for Douglas Hartwig and a full sister to B172 born last year. ★ This Maid cow family has been solid for generations – grandam and great grandam (a Pathfinder) had a 363 and 356 day calving interval, respectively. Fourth generation dam B155 recorded a 362 day calving interval on her 11 progeny. She was a thick, beefy cow that put 5 replacement daughters in our herd. Next down the line was the great Pathfinder S34 cow that recorded 14-108 WR and had a 359 day calving interval at the end of her career! She brought 10 sons to auction. Those are profitable cattle!

★ Ultrasound safe to Mogck Empire 110, due approximately February 24, 2025. ★ B280 is a tank! She’s moderate framed and has that real cow look to her with depth and broodiness. She is a 17 th generation Blackcap Empress Ellston female to be bred by the Hoover family – Walt Hoover would be proud we have kept the legacy of this cow family alive! ★ Dam V119 has produced sons for Chad & Craig Davison and Darryl Devore, all repeat customers. She is a nice cow that brings in good calf each year. ★ Grandam R92’s claim to fame is being the dam of the great T184 donor cow, who is the dam of Lots 75 bull and 176 heifer. Her 5 sons that have come to auction have averaged $11,450! T184 has been the best embryo-producing cow in our history! T184 is the 12 th top indexing cow of the Hoover herd with 4-108 WR on her natural progeny. Her embryos sell as Lot 183. ★ Trace this pedigree back and you will find the great Pathfinder donor C109 cow (read about her in the footnote of Lot 119) and the old J350 cow – one of our very first Pathfinder cows, and one of the most tremendous cows of her day.

Sam England (who does our carcass ultrasound), Landi and Staci Mitchell (who you will see helping us out at sale time and other peak times of the year) attend the Beef Improvement Federation Symposium in Tennessee.
