★ Ultrasound safe to Deep Creek Legitimate 203, due approximately March 31, 2025. ★ B248 is a level-topped, complete-made female with well-rounded EPDs. She’s nice! She is a 16 th generation Blackcap Empress Ellston female to be bred, born, and raised right here in Southern Iowa by the Hoover family. She traces back to the great C57 cow – C57 has 101 daughter descendants that have worked in the herd, as well as 9 that have served as donors and 18 Pathfinders! Truly a highly productive cow family running generations deep! ★ Dam X508 was a first calf heifer with B248. Her second calf is a Trophyclass bull, but too young for this year’s sale. ★ Grandam R439 has produced daughters for Trent Johnson and Jason Sieren. Jason’s heifer was deep, broody, and the 10 th top weaning weight heifer of her crop. ★ R439 was the 5 th top IMF scanning heifer of her crop!
★ Ultrasound safe to Mohnen General Lee, due approximately February 28, 2025. ★ B251 is good quartered heifer from a cow family that comes second-to-none at Hoover Angus. She is a 13 th generation Blackcap Empress Ellston female backed by some of the all-time greats at Hoover Angus like T10, C344, and C57. Read about the great C57 cow in Lot 139’s footnote. ★ Dam X91 is an excellent uddered cow with a 362 day calving interval. Her first daughter works for Kevin Ross – she is a tank! Kevin sends excellent reports of the four bred heifers he selected from our sale last year. ★ Grandam T10 is one of my very favorite cows of the herd – she’s a beautiful, exceptional uddered, superior footed cow that is super slick haired. She puts an optimal level of growth and size in her progeny. T10’s Docility EPD in the best 1% of the breed rings true. Three ET sons were photo features in our sale last year and two sons sold for $15,000 and $14,000 – definitely the highlight flush of the sale! ★ With the relatively new Functional Longevity EPD, T10 fares well – among 579 Hoover-owned females on the report, she is among the best 20! ★ T10 has a 363 day calving interval, and we have stolen flushes from her the past three years, and she still breeds right back. ★ T10’s progeny work for Steven Young, Russell & Sharon Kelley, Glen Hanson (two sons), Benz Eagle Valley Angus, Chad Heinert, and Jonathan Ernst. ★ Pathfinder great grandam P102 is a gentle cow with superior mothering ability. Checking fall cows each day, she is always right with her calf, and overnight, she puts her calf right in front of her nose. It’s a seemingly forgotten trait in today’s beef industry quest for “bigger and better”, yet a very important trait for farmers and ranchers! ★ I must briefly mention fourth generation Pathfinder dam C344. She maintained a 359 day calving interval on her first 13 natural progeny, which included stealing flushes 5 different years, a testament to her exemplary fertility! C344 was laid to rest at 16 years of age. Her udder was still impeccable, and her feet were still amazing. She ended her career with a superior 13-107 WR.

★ Ultrasound safe to Mogck Empire 110, due approximately February 17, 2025. Empire calves can come early, so we recommend B260 goes home to her new owner on sale day or the day after. ★ B260 is a bigger framed, long bodied heifer with lots of capacity. She was the 4 th top weaning weight, 4 th top yearling weight heifer of her crop! She is a calm heifer. ★ Dam V233 has earned Pathfinder honors for her early and regular calving interval and high performance on her calves. V233’s first son works for Randy McDonnell. ★ Grandam J299 also earned Pathfinder honors and put two nice replacement daughters in the herd. ★ Trace back several more generations to find the great G100 cow – one of the great cows of her day. G100 produced until over 17 years of age, and the day she went to town, she walked just as smooth as what she did when she was half that age. She ended her career with a whopping 110 wean ratio on her progeny!
