FALL BRED HEIFERS + Sons work for Derek Sawyer, Brice Erickson, Clint Welsh, Darin Eckels, Larry Bridgewater, and Dusty Goodman. Larry’s bull was the #1 ribeye scan bull of our 2024 sale with an awesome 1.4” of ribeye per hundred pounds of body weight! Dana Hotz selected S7’s natural calf from our 2023 sale and sends good reports on him. + S7 serves as a working donor and records 23-103 IMF ratio and 23-105 ribeye ratio. She recorded a 370 day calving interval at 5 years of age despite stealing flushes three separate years. + AI to Mead Mercury on 11-23-24. + B446 is a long bodied, smooth made, nice profiling heifer from the most high profile cow family at Hoover Angus! + B446 scanned a 12.2” ribeye to be the 2 nd top ribeye scanning female of her crop and ties as the 3 rd highest RE EPD female in the entire sale! She also ties as the #1 YW EPD fall heifer to sell! + Dam X48 is an ideal young cow raising a nice full brother to B446 now – look for him to be one of the top bulls in our sale next year. + Pathfinder donor grandam S7 is likely the most valuable cow at Hoover Angus – I believe that S7 would be the cow with the highest progeny sales average of any cow currently in the herd! + Highlights of S7’s progeny include daughters selected by Moon Creek Farms and Hansine Ranch Partnership (2 sisters) for $36,500 and $26,000, Abernathy Ranches and William Vacek for $30,000, and Nathan Lung for $14,000. The Moon Creek heifer produced embryos that topped the embryo portion of their 2022 sale at $1300/embryo – just 9 months after they purchased her! + S7 started her career out strong, producing the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer of our 2019 crop that was the lead-off, top-selling female of our 2021 sale at $32,000 to Pine View Angus.

+ S7’s individual performance data: BW 72 lbs., WW 827 lbs., WR 107, YW 1094 lbs., YR 106, IMF 9.23, ratio 156, ribeye 13.2”, ratio 103. S7 was the #1 IMF scanning heifer of her crop, and her ribeye scan was 3.5” above breed average! Among her ET contemporaries, she was the #1 adjusted weaning weight and yearling weight heifer! + During her tenure at Hoover Angus, grandam L5’s 10 progeny sold averaged a whopping $24,100! Sons from Hoover Angus worked at three AI studs: Alta Genetics, Select Sires, and Accelerated Genetics. After a successful career at Hoover Angus, L5 was purchased by Baldridge Performance Angus. + L5 now has four Pathfinder daughters – two working Pathfinder donors in the Hoover herd; two in the Baldridge herd! This is an exceptionally rare feat! + Superior udders run in this cow family, and the 5 generations of cows down the dam’s side of this pedigree have been excellent uddered cows, even into old age. 4th generation dam G366’s udder at over 12 years of age would rival most 3-4 year- old females in the breed today. Please see a picture of her udder and read a brief summary about her on page 47. Females Lots 108-112, and 167-173 all descend from G366 as well as embryos selling on page 76.
