+ C177 is a wide-based, pretty heifer that gets style and class from both the top and bottom sides of her pedigree! + We are selling three descendants of L5 in the open heifer division and 5 descendants of the great G366 cow? What were we thinking? Here is yet another one! + C177 ties as the top Milk EPD open heifer has the lowest (best) Hair Shed EPD of any animal selling today! She ties as the top Docility EPD open heifer too! + Dam Z57 is a bigger framed, beautiful cow whose first daughter settled first service AI and is going into the replacement herd this spring. C177 is her second calf. + Z57 was one of two flush mates retained in the herd from the tremendous flush of heifers from the S7 cow. The other flush mates sold for $36,500 to Moon Creek Farms and Hansine Ranch Partnership, $30,000 to Rhett Abernathy and $14,000 to Nathan Lung. The Moon Creek heifer produced embryos that topped the embryo portion of their 2022 sale at $1300/embryo – just 9 months after they purchased this heifer! Brothers from this flush sold to Derek Sawyer for $18,500, Brice Erickson for $9500, and Dusty Goodman for $7500. + Grandam S7 has some of the highest averaging progeny sales of any cow, past or present, at Hoover Angus! Many of her progeny have been at the top of their crop for weaning weight. + S7 started her career out strong, producing the #1 adjusted weaning weight heifer of our 2019 crop that was the lead-off, top-selling female of our 2021 sale at $32,000 to Pine View Angus. + Other S7 sons work for Clint Welsh, Darin Eckels, and Larry Bridgewater. Larry’s bull was the #1 ribeye scan bull of our 2024 sale with an awesome 1.4” of ribeye
per hundred pounds of body weight! Dana Hotz selected S7’s natural calf from our 2023 sale and sends good reports on him. Another daughter besides those listed above works for Grayham’s Angus. + S7 serves as a working donor and records 23-103 IMF ratio and 23-105 ribeye ratio. She recorded a 370 day calving interval at 5 years of age despite stealing flushes three separate years. + S7’s individual performance data: BW 72 lbs., WW 827 lbs., WR 107, YW 1094 lbs., YR 106, IMF 9.23, ratio 156, ribeye 13.2”, ratio 103. S7 was the #1 IMF scanning heifer of her crop, and her ribeye scan was 3.5” above breed average! Among her ET contemporaries, she was the #1 adjusted weaning weight and yearling weight heifer! + Please read about great grandam L5 in the footnote of Lot 171 and a brief summary of fourth generation dam G366 on page 47. Females Lots 108-112 and 167-173 all descend from G366 as well as embryos selling on page 76.
