Bessie May Allen Scholarship GRACE HOERIG
About the Scholarship This scholarship was established by Bessie May Allen, Director of the Home Economics Department at UWSP for 39 years. Bessie May Allen shaped the home economics program at UWSP. She was vital in keeping the program alive, bringing it back to campus after the Board of Regents had voted to eliminate it. Grace is majoring in sustainable food and nutrition and works as a student manager for UWSP's Dining and Summer Conferences. She is the treasurer of the United Nations Student Organization and hopes to move abroad and research food in other countries.
