About the Scholarship Dr. Donna Garr and husband Phil established this scholarship following the death of their daughter and granddaughter. Kelly Garr Dawley was their only daughter; she died in a tragic automobile accident while pursuing a degree at UWSP as a non-traditional student. This scholarship was established to encourage non-traditional female students to continue their education by helping provide financial resources to pursue a college degree within the UWSP College of Professional Studies. Kelly Garr Dawley Scholarship MARIA SALINAS Maria is a nursing major who looks forward to working as a nurse for a facility that has a demand for bilingual staff.
