Wax crayons
Wax crayons are made from fairly shiny and slightly translucent waxes in assorted colours. Wax crayons come in various diameters, and their pigments are quite stable once applied to a support. Oil pastels Oil pastels are round, brightly coloured sticks that are softer than wax crayons. They allow for a fast and effective application with superior covering power. Oil pastels are ideal for colour gradients, mixing and scratch art Dry pastels Dry pastels are round or square sticks ideal for use on textured supports. They are dry, soft and crumbly, and available in a wide range of colours. Because dry pastels tend to be powdery and fragile, projects should be stabilized with an aerosol fixative.. Coloured pencils
These woodcased coloured pigment sticks are used for colour drawing and make precision and fine details possible. Markers Markers consist of an ink reservoir usually encased in a plastic cylinder. Available in a range of diameters and tip sizes, markers feature either water-based or permanent ink.
