Alongside the Bruny Island Bowls Club’s historic win, other Tasmanian clubs and volunteers were honoured at the Good Sports Awards: • Tasmanian University Football Club – Tas Club of the Year • Dominoes Basketball Club – Tas Club of the Year Runner-Up • Daniel Ogg (Dominoes Basketball Club) – Tas Volunteer of the Year • Helen Lynd (Ulverstone Basketball Association) – Tas Volunteer of the Year Runner-Up A Club with Heart “As a small club in a small community, The Bruny Island Bowls and Community Club joined Good Sports to be part of something bigger,” said Bruny Island Bowls and Community Club spokesperson Christopher Mann. “It has reinforced our commitment to creating a safe, family-friendly environment and strengthened our reputation as an inclusive, welcoming space.”
One of the club’s most successful initiatives has been “Australia Day at Adventure Bay,” which is now an official event recognised by the Australia Day Council. Celebrated for the fourth consecutive year, this event has become the headline act on Bruny Island’s social calendar.
