Community Forum; Fairmount Temple Property Beachwood engaged residents on the future use of the Fairmount Temple property at a Community Engagement Forum on November 7, with

nearly 80 attending in person and 114 participating virtually. Residents discussed four primary options: residential housing, recreation, arts and culture, and religious or instutional use. A prior survey of 639 responses indicated strong support for residential housing and recreation as top priorities.

Based on this input, the city will develop the property into a residential community, addressing Beachwood’s housing needs and residents’ preferences.

Large-Scale Community Events The city successfully hosted its three signature annual events in 2024, each drawing impressive attendance and offering unique experiences for the community. February Freeze drew approximately 1,000 guests with a Candy Land theme, providing sweet family fun for all ages. The annual Juneteenth

Community Celebration has quickly become one of the city’s most beloved and well-attended events, drawing over 2,000 attendees to celebrate. The Fall Fest lived up to its theme, “The Greatest Fall Festival on Earth,” featuring a kick-off concert, carnival-style games and rides, and a spectacular fireworks finale.

Fall Fest attracted more than 4,500 residents and visitors , making it a standout highlight of the event calendar.

72% Exceptional Public Safety Interactions

Residential Satisfaction Survey The City of Beachwood conducted a Residential Satisfaction Survey in September to gain insights into residents’ perspectives on city services and identify areas for improvement. The survey results (280 responses) affirm Beachwood’s successes and provide actionable insights. Here are the survey’s key findings:

Recreation Facilities Beachwood’s parks, aquatic center, and more received Public Safety Residents appreciated the professionalism and visibility of police and fire with 63% expression high satisfaction in patrols and 72% having exceptional direct interactions.

Quality of Life With an average of 4.6, 93% of residents indicated a high level of satisfaction in overall quality of life with a 4 or 5 rating. Public Works Services Many recognized Public Works as the best in the region with 80% expressing excellent satisfaction with a 5 out of 5 rating.

Opportunities for Improvement • Street Lighting & Sidewalks: Residents highlighted the need to enhance safety and walkability. • Traffic Safety: Concerns were raised about speeding and violations on specific streets and intersections.
