Collaborating for Care, Community Impact, and Convenience The City of Beachwood continues to prioritize innovative partnerships that benefit its residents. In collaboration with the City of Shaker Heights, Beachwood has completed its deer management program for the winter of 2024-2025, harvesting and processing 90 deer and donating nearly 3,400 pounds of meat to local food banks, supporting community members in need.
The Building Department has partnered with Camino Technologies to implement new permits, licensing, and code enforcement software, offering residents convenient online services like payments, applications, and inspection requests. These partnerships demonstrate the city’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and community well-being.
Beachwood’s ongoing partnership with the American Red Cross resulted in eight blood drives at the Beachwood Community Center in 2024, collecting 277 units of donated blood to save lives.
Driving Economic Growth The City of Beachwood and the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce continually collaborate to enhance the community’s economic landscape. Together, they host signature annual events like the State of the City address, highlighting the city’s accomplishments. The Chamber’s
The collaborative job fair drew over 200 job seekers and 50 employers , connecting talent with opportunity and strengthening the local workforce.
Business Expo and Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit attracted 100 women entrepreneurs, showcasing the city’s support for small businesses and innovation.
Engaging in Education
The City of Beachwood is committed to promoting educational opportunities by making its resources and leaders accessible to local schools. Through initiatives like the City Hall Leadership Summit, second-grade student leaders from Bryden Elementary School visited Beachwood City Hall to meet Mayor Justin
Berns, Police Chief Dan Grispino, and Fire Chief Steve Holtzman. The visit provided students with a hands-on civics lesson and an opportunity to learn about city officials’ essential roles in their community. In April, the City of Beachwood and Beachwood Schools partnered to host the Beachwood Blackout Solar Eclipse Celebration. Thousands of residents filled the stadium at Beachwood High School to view this celestial event. The celebration featured family-friendly activities, including inflatables, yard games, and a NASA live-stream LED screen. The Beachwood Public Works Department brought excitement to the preschoolers at Ganon Gil Preschool by showcasing a portion of their fleet, including a bucket truck, rubbish truck, and dump truck. Public Works Superintendent Chris Vild and his team engaged the children with demonstrations, fostering curiosity about the city’s operations. These educational experiences reflect Beachwood’s dedication to inspiring our youngest residents and encouraging civic engagement from an early age.
