Blakemore, Edward G. Irvin, Byron K. Armstrong, and Ezra D. Alexander were in attendance. Conclave Head- quarters were at the historic Hotel Hollenden, where the traditional Prom and Banquet occurred. Private organi- zations gave many social functions for the interests of the guests. ANNIVERSARY CONCLAVES Silver Anniversary 25th Grand Chapter Meeting, St. Louis, MO December 27-31, 1935 At the 24th Grand Chapter Meeting in New York City, the Grand Chapter selected St. Louis, MO, over Washing- ton, DC, as the host city of the Silver Anniversary Conclave. The Silver Anniversary Grand Chapter was hailed as one of the most productive sessions ever. Black hair care tycoon Annie Turnbo Malone’s Poro Building, located in the Ville neighborhood, was Conclave head- quarters. The event opened Friday night with a dance at the Municipal Auditorium, held from 11 PM-4 AM. Late-night Conclave social affairs were common in the fraternity’s early years, causing the business meetings to be scheduled by 11 AM the following day. Saturday’s business sessions were held
at the Poro Auditorium, and the Com- plimentary Dance hosted by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, followed later Saturday evening. Sunday, December 29, began with a 10:45 AM church service which featured a sermon at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where Rev. Joseph Gomez (St. Louis (MO) Alumni) was Pastor. The Right Reverend Noah W. Williams of the Sev- enth Episcopal Diocese, A.M.E. Church, was guest speaker. Later that afternoon, brothers and guests enjoyed a sight-see- ing trip, while Grand Polemarch J. Jerome Peters delivered a one-hour forum radio address on station KSD. Dr. Horace Mann Bond (Epsilon 1920) delivered the principal address during the Public Meeting at Lane Tabernacle. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted a dance at the Castle Ballroom from 2 AM-6 AM. On Monday, the annual Kappa Alpha Psi Banquet at the Poro Grill Room followed the business session. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Omega Psi Phi hosted a dance at the Castle Ballroom from 10 PM-3 AM. Tuesday was the closing day for the 25th Grand Chapter Meeting, which saw the final business session with the election of officers. Later that evening, the annual formal Kappa Alpha Psi Closed Dance occurred

at the Municipal Auditorium, now known as Kiel Auditorium. Founders Elder W. Diggs and Byron K. Armstrong were present, along with Past Grand Polemarchs W. Ellis Stew- art, Archie A. Alexander, A. Moore Shearin, and Jesse Jerome Peters. Founder Armstrong was awarded the Laurel Wreath at this landmark frater- nity anniversary Conclave. Golden Anniversary 50th Grand Chapter Meeting, Bloomington, IN August 26-30, 1961 Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity celebrated its Golden Anniversary at Indiana University, August 26-30, 1961, by electing a new Grand Polemarch, the dedication of a new undergraduate campus house, the highly anticipated Elder Watson Diggs Memorial, the
