boarded buses for the 50-mile trek from Indianapolis. Many saw the Diggs Memorial for the first time. A plaque was dedicated at the house where Diggs and Armstrong conceived
Noted minister and educator Rev. Dr. Samuel D. Proctor served as the Closed Banquet Keynote Speaker. On Friday afternoon, a picnic, featuring a step show competition started the Jubilee’s final day. Brother Ashe presented awards to the winners of the tennis competition. The 100- voice Kappa Choir held a concert in the evening, with the Diamond Jubilee Grand Ball concluding the night and the Conclave’s festivities. Under the big top, university officials joined the throng in a home- coming welcome with food and more speeches. Grand Polemarch Randall C. Bacon presented a $10,000 check to Indiana University on behalf of the fraternity to be used for the school’s Black Cultural Center. Keynote Speaker. Tennis champion Arthur Ashe (Upsilon 1963) hosted a tennis tournament and Continuing Education,
the Fraternity 75 years earlier. Some members viewed the rooms in which they lived. This event was followed by a Wreath Laying Cere- mony at the graves of Founders Elder Watson Diggs, and Guy L. Grant, and first Journal Editor Lionel F. Artis at Crown

Awareness Seminars were held, with the Student of the Year Pageant occur- ring afterward. A huge
outdoor festival called Kappa Fest, was held at the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis. It featured a wide variety of entertainment. A social affair, Klub Kappa, began at 10 PM that evening. The highlight of the Diamond Jubilee occurred on the fourth day - the pilgrimage to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, which included tours of the campus and the Elder Watson Diggs Memorial. More than 2,000 members, wives, and friends
Hill Cemetery. Later that evening, the singer Nancy Wilson gave a concert at the Circle Theater. The day concluded with a Monte Carlo Night and India- napolis (IN) Alumni Chapter hosting a motorcade event at the Indianapolis 500 Speedway. A breakfast honoring 75 years of Kappa Awardees began the Conclave events on the Jubilee’s fifth day. The Closed Banquet was held in the evening, with the Diamond Jubilee Disco party rounding out the night.
