Bruce Colbert 1966-2023 Customer Service and Logistics Professional

T he Waukegan (IL) Alumni Chapter mourns the loss of one of its charter members, Willie L. Carter (Gamma Upsilon 1967), who entered the Chapter Invisible on November 1, 2024. Willie Lee Carter was born on Janu- ary 22, 1946, to Leola Carter in Alexandria, LA, and spent his childhood in North Chicago, IL. In high school, he discovered his love for golf as a caddy. He attended Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale, majoring in chemistry and math. At SIU, Carter was known for being the best host, loving music, and keeping everyone laughing with his jokes. Upon gradua- tion, he began a career at Reichold Inc. as a chemist and later progressed into management. Carter moved to the sub- urbs of Chicago to his role as Operations Manager role at Swift Adhesive. He con- tinued to be active in Kappa Alpha Psi as a member of the Maywood-Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter. In

T he Macon-Warner of Bruce Colbert (Theta Pi 1986), the self-proclaimed “Duke of The Nupes”, who entered the Chapter Invisible on October 30, 2023 at 57. He was born on June 30, 1966 to Savannah (née Lockhart) Colbert and Calvin Colbert. Colbert, in 1988, earned a BA degree in business administration and logistics from Georgia College & State University located in Milledgeville, GA. Colbert was a charter member of the Georgia College & State University Robins (GA) Alumni mourns the passing Chapter, the Mu Psi of Kappa Alpha Psi. A Life Member of the Fraterntiy, Colbert was a longtime member of the Macon-War- ner Robins (GA) Alumni Chapter. Professionally, Colbert start his career as territory sales manager for Brown & Williamson Tobacco. He worked for Progressive Insurance, City of Macon Water Authority, the

1992, his family relocated to Highland Park for a new position as Director of Quality at Jensen Speakers. In 1999, Carter became the founder and CEO of Quantum Associates Inc., a quality management consulting firm. He also received his master’s at Roosevelt University and later became an adjunct instructor there. He also dedicated his time to Kappa Alpha Psi, weekly golf games, mentoring young men, and volunteering with many local organizations; including the Lake County Chamber of Commerce. Brother Willie L. Carter is survived by his wife, Hilde Carter, two daughters, Devin Carter and Melissa Carter, and his grandson, Devin Robinson. ♦

He was known for his ded- ication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. He was a faithful member of Center Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Superinten- dent of Sunday School. Brother Bruce Colbert is survived by his parents; wife Arlisa (née Flagg) Colbert, children Bryson Calvin (Eta Theta 2022) and Addison Faith Colbert; siblings, Carl (Carrol) Colbert and Marvin (Pamela) Colbert; and a host of relatives, close friends, and fraternity brothers. ♦
