Fields Of Change: A Sustainability Handbook

Map Your Network Think about the different individuals, teams, and organisations in your network. How do these different stakeholders relate to each other? How can you work effectively with your network to achieve your goals? Refer back to section (D.) on communication - how can you tailor your message to the different parts of your network? What are your specific requests or offers to the different contacts? Do you need to add more people or organisations to your network, and if so, how will you reach them?

Activity: Securing An Environmental Legacy in Your Community What are your priorities for securing the legacy of your project and ensuring it delivers lasting impact? Consider the types of impact and techniques. Consider the following bullet points and make notes for your project under each heading: • Strategy: Where do you want to get to? When by? How do you get there, and who do you need to help you? • Partnerships: Who can you work with for shared benefit? What partnerships could increase your impact? How can you build those relationships? • Educate and Empower: Social change is key. This is not just through education, but also by providing positive experiences, memories, role models, and attitudes. • Measure and Report Impact: What does success look like? What metrics will you use to assess your impact, and how can you collect this data? • Lead by Example: How will you demonstrate positive sustainability leadership and practise what you preach, while being honest and accountable by acknowledging where you have limitations? • Innovate and Experiment: How will your project be new and different? What do you want to try or pilot? And of course, don’t be afraid of mistakes!
