A Year in Review 2025

BreastScreen NSW clinic opens at Mona Vale In 2025, women living on the upper Northern Beaches gained improved access to life-saving breast cancer screening, with the opening of a permanent BreastScreen NSW clinic at Mona Vale Community Health Centre.

The new service replaced the mobile unit that previously visited the area once a year and joins the existing clinic at Brookvale. Since opening in July 2025, more than 1000 women have had a mammogram at Mona Vale, highlighting the community’s strong demand for accessible health services.

The clinic provides convenience for around 16,000 local women aged 50–74, who now have access to screening within 20 minutes of home. Equipped with one mammography room and capacity to expand further, the service is well positioned to meet the future needs of the community.

NSW Minister for Health, Ryan Park, said the clinic will make a lasting difference for local women. “This permanent site at Mona Vale Hospital will make a huge difference to the approximately 5,000 women every year who are expected to receive screenings,” Mr Park said.
