credit the Bible. In pursuance of said object, such mem bership corporation shall publish and distribute anti-Bib- lical literature, hold meetings and debates on the Bible, and agitate for the repeal of laws enforcing its religious tenets.” Justice Crain is greatly to be commended for not legal izing such an organization. No A. A. A. A. a t Denver University In our October, 1927, issue we called attention to the claim of the A . A. A. A. to having a chapter in Denver University. , At the annual conference of the Methodist Church of Colorado, a committee reported that there was no atheistic club at Denver University. “Denver Univer sity in the old days in its inner life was positively religious; the university is no less so today,” says the report. “The inner atmosphere will not suffer by comparison with any. Dr. S. A. Lough, the Henry Drummond of Denver Uni versity, as during his presidency at Baker, is solicitous that every student shall have a Christian experience. One third of the students in the college of liberal arts are taking re ligious courses. No club organization is allowed without the consent of the faculty, and no request for an atheistic student organization has ever been made. The students themselves report that there is no such organization.” The American Anti-Bible Society has found a Wil liam Bryan to act as its national secretary. He hails from Tennessee, where William Jennings Bryan, soldier of the Cross, gave his life in defense of the Scriptures. There are few people who cannot tell the difference between the ring of a genuine coin and the dull thud of a counterfeit. I I I . 11 •I a te The Bars Are Down to A theism The Christian Advocate says of the work of the A. A. A. A .:— “Russia has tried such experiments with the backing of the Government, with the result that it seems to be the Government itself rather than the Bible that is being backed off the map. The most dangerous foes of the Bible and all that it stands for are those who profess to be its friends, but who do it only lip-service. A large part of the indifference of the younger generation to the Bible and its teachings is immediately traceable to the fact that they have been brought up in Christian homes where the Book is dishonored by not being read and obeyed. Young peo ple are keen-eyed. They observe just how much the Book which is held up to them as the guide of life is really the guide of their fathers and mothers, and they are quick to draw conclusions. They sayS and why should they not say?-— Either the Bible is a good deal more important than you seem to rate it, or it is a good deal less: Who shall blame them if they choose the latter alternative? It needs no organized ‘Anti-Bible Society to teach them so.” a te a te Another W illiam Bryan

The Arm of C omm un istic Russia S OME religious papers have been taking the position that no notice should be taken of the propaganda of the A. A. A. A. and that its activities are harmless. We can readily agree that as a general rule it is folly to dignify the effusions from such sources by too much attention. On the other hand, our American people are slow to awaken to the fact that the A. A. A. A., is an arm of communistic Russia’s program of demoralization and disintegration of American ideals, and that it is making great progress by its sinister boring from within. It seems our plain duty to arouse people to the serious ness of the situation. These people have learned that the best way to overcome America is to slyly and persistently plant their seed upon the fertile ground—the hearts and minds of our youth. These children have had little touch with the world and are most susceptible to impression. The Third Internationale knew this in 1923, when Lenin, in his speech before the Department of Education, urged that the youth of the world, the little children, re ceive most of the propaganda. He said: “Give us the child for eight years and it will be a Bolshevik forever. . . . We have struck the kings from the earth—now let us strike the king from the skies. . . . We must hate—hatred is the basis of communism. .... . Children must be taught to hate their parents if they-are not Communists—if they are, then the child need not respect them, need no longer worry about them.” To carry out this scheme in America, there came into being the infamous A. A. A. A., incorporated under the laws of the State of New York. This association already has branches in many schools and colleges and hundreds of children are enrolled in the Junior Atheist League. Many of these children, having picked Up the seeds of doubt in the subtle literature of this organization, prattle of science proving there is no God. They are taught that morality is a thing for individual measurement, that mar riage is nonsense, religion a fairy tale and the sanctity of the home buncombe. ' Replies to Atheistic literature being circulated in the schools have been printed in these columns and are now printed in tract form. We shall circulate these as, widely as our funds permit, offering them free of charge to re sponsible parties who will guarantee to circulate them wisely. All contributions to the B. B. B. B. funds from our readers, will be used to print and circulate this con structive literature. An ti-B ib le Society Not Incorporated When the American Anti-Bible Society of New York City applied recently for incorporation, the petition was refused by Justice C. T. Crain, who said: “I refuse to approve of the evil purpose of this pro posed incorporation.” The statement of the purpose of the proposed organization says: “The object for which the said membership corporation is to be formed is to dis
