Another fall-time wedding was that of MR. LEIGH E. McLAREN and MISS ESTHER PAULK, students of the Even ing School. — o— MISS MABEL L. MERRILL MS, was united in marriage to CHARLES D. HOPE, November 2, after the Prayer Meeting Service of the Church of the Open Door. Rev. T. C. Horton, Super intendent Emeritus of the Bible In stitute, officiated. Mrs. Hope has been, for several years, one of the Bible Women. The many whose lives and hearts she has touched, will pray God’s blessing upon this new home. —o—- ’ MR. SAMUEL JANTZEN and MISS NARSA WHITE, Evening School ’23, were united in marriage October 9, at the home of her sister in San Pedro. REV. W. H ..PIKE, Secretary of the Evening School; officiated, in the presence of a few intimate friends and members . of • the family./ Mr, and Mrs,' Jantzen are at home to their friends in Los Angeles and are both helping in the Mexican Church at the Christian Center. MRS. HENRY LICHTI (nee SYLVIA BAUMGARTNER ’22), Upland,- Cali fornia, was called of God to be with Him in Glory, Sunday, Octobei9 23. REV. HARRY O. ANDERSON MS, Evangelist, conducted a union tabernacle campaign in the southeastern section of Los Angeles during the month of No vember. Mr. Anderson has been greatly blessed in his evangelistic ministry, and his schedule is crowded. — o— MISS AGATHA TOEVS *27, is now Superintendent of the Bethany Hospital, American Falls, Idaho. She finds op portunity, in the midst of her many duties, to speak a good word for B. I. REV. CARLTON DEWEY ’24, and his wife (formerly Mildred Nichols ’20) have accepted a call to the Immanuel Bap tist Church of Auburn, New York. Since leaving the Institute, they have been do ing a splendid work at Canton, New York. , —o— . MR. AND MRS. CARLTON LAUBER ’27, are now engaged in mission work for the Presbyterian Board of National Mis sions at Ganado, Arizona. . Mrs. Lauber is teaching the third grade and Bible, and Mr, Lauber is boys’ superintendent. The word they send to all their friends is : “We are happily situated, and interested in our work.” The Extension Department is glad to comply with their request for lit erature to be placed in the hands of pros pective students among, the Indian^?!

Brown ’18, to Duncan Gardner At a very pretty but quiet wedding FLORENCE L. BROWN ’18, was mar ried to DUNCAN GARDNER, at the China Inland Mission Home in Los An geles, the ceremony being performed by REV. FORD L. CANFIELD ’18. Mrs. Gardner was one of the twelve of the “Saunders ;Party” that went to China several years ago, as were also Mr. and Mrs. Canfield, who are now in charge of the China Inland Mission Home in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner met while engaged in their church work. Mr. Gardner is a young attorney, connected with the Security Trust & Savings Bank of Los Angeles. They will make their home in Glendale, California. We extend our best wishes to the happy couple. — o — Interesting Items from Everywhere REV. ELMER GANDY ’22, more re cently a graduate of the Northern Bap tist Seminary atgChicago; and formerly pastor at Tremont, Illinois, has been called as pastor to the Baptist Church of Blythe, California. Mr. Gandy is already on the field.
