Royal Group Acquires Progress Container

The Royal Group (TRG) has acquired Progress Container & Display, Winder, Georgia, a provider in the corrugated industry offering a range of packag- ing for industrial, retail, eCommerce, and point-of- purchase display customers. Progress Container marks the 17th manufacturing facility and 37th TRG location nationwide. This will be the second TRG location in Georgia, including Dalton Box, and provides expanded cov- erage and capabilities to customers in the southeast. Jim Johnson, Jr., President of Progress Container & Display, will serve as General Manager and re- main with the company in a leadership position. Progress Container & Display was founded in 1971 in Lilburn, Georgia, focusing on industrial packaging solutions for the Georgia market and be- yond. To meet industry demands in the retail arena, in the mid-1980s the company broadened its scope of products offerings to include color displays. Apex Breaks Ground On Manufacturing Facility Apex International held a celebratory ground- breaking to mark the commencement of construc- tion on its new Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. The new facility is located in the Alta Vista Busi- ness Park in Fallowfield Township, Pennsylvania, and will be replace the existing location in Donora, Pennsylvania. Guardian Construction Management Services, a southeast construction management partner, is the selected contractor for the building initiative. Leadership teams from Apex Internation- al and Guardian Construction were onsite to con- duct the groundbreaking in mid-August. The new property will sit on more than 12 acres of land and occupy more than 58,500 square feet — more than twice the size of the Donora manufacturing site. The facility’s primary purpose is to expand and el- evate the manufacturing and warehousing capabil- ities of Apex International’s anilox roll and sleeve, glue set, metering roll and print maintenance prod- ucts. Construction on the property began August 22, 2022, with an expected occupancy date in 2024. The Fallowfield facility is part of Apex’s “Vision: 2020s” plan, a multi-phase growth strategy, an- nounced in Spring 2021. Vision:2020s entails in- vestments in new buildings, new production equip- ment, and new personnel, in order to scale up production capacity and elevate product quality.
