Blow-up Doll Fake love. What is it? Here, in a brilliant and somewhat insane work with deliberate irony, Giovanni wraps together in curves of motion a representation of a face. The mouth is exaggerated, distorted, and disproportioned. One large eye is wide-open and laced with luscious eyelashes of seduction. The words ‘THE MEANING OF IT AL’ is written into the painting and looks as if it was carved into the canvas. A frog sits in the lower left corner on top of the letter G. This frog is a representation of Giovanni himself. He is depicting himself here as a prince disguised as a frog. The women is representing the saying “you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince.” Most comic of the social commentary series, a joke on portraiture, and a joke on love– leaves and image of a loves degeneration. “Blow up doll is a parody about existence.”
