Ezekiel would be suicidal for those hosts. And, give “ Gog” credit for having some practical men o f war! Nor will it be Western Europe. Again practical men o f war, yea, those of Russia also, know that it could only end in disaster for the northern army. The barricade is even now being raised in Western Europe that will make that line of march suicidal for the hosts o f the north. But what land is it upon which “ the prince o f Rosh” has had his eyes fixed for centuries? As every historian knows, from the days o f Peter the Great, the Musco vite has coveted Palestine, believing that whoever possessed that land— the bridge linking together three vast ly populated continents, the “ navel o f the earth” (Ezek. 38:12, marg.) through which flows the lifeblood of three continents— could rule the earth. Moreover, the ice-bound nation must possess warm seas as outlets for her ships. For over two hundred years, the old Russian bear lay back in his den, dreaming of possessing the land of Abraham some day. And, so it is written: “ In the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out o f many peoples, upon the mountains o f Israel” (38 :8 ). How significant it is that when “ Gog” goes forth to his prey, it will be “ upon the mountains of Israel which” for centuries “ have been a continual waste” ; but, when the in vasion actually takes place, it will be upon the “ waste places that are now inhabited, and against the people that are gathered out o f the nations, that have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle [navel] o f the earth” (38 :12 ), against “ the land of unwalled villages . . . all o f them dwelling without walls” (38 :11 ). In the light o f these words, how tre mendously significant it is that in the portion o f Palestine which the United Nations recently allotted to the Jews, the “ waste places” are be ing built, and the restored land, blos soming as a rose, does not contain a single walled village! The recent transformation o f Palestine there fore, had to take place before Gog’s march. It has come! Seven centuries after Ezekiel, the Apostle John was taken to the isle called Patmos, and there he penned another remarkable prophecy. Pictur ing the going forth o f one o f the fa mous four horsemen, he said: “ And another horse came forth, a red horse: and to him that sat thereon it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another: Page Twelve

and there was given unto him a great sword ” (Rev. 6 :4 ). What nation flashes into mind the moment you read that passage ? There is only one! As I am writing these words, I reach down into my waste

laugh” ! (Psalms 2 :4 ). God looked down and ordered the infidel to de sign a postage stamp setting forth a revelation that He gave to the Apostle John nineteen centuries ago, a proph ecy o f the atheist himself, and, to send it forth over all his empire! The stamp pictures the “ four horsemen” riding swiftly. The horse in the van is RED ! And, it carries upon its side the emblem o f Russia, the hammer and the sickle!! Doubter, think that over! “ And there was given unto him a great sword.” Now, as I write, the “ U. S. News and World Report" (May 26, 1950) lies on my desk. By words and by charts, a comparison of the military might o f the “ Two Worlds,” the “ U.S. Bloc” and the “ Russian Bloc,” is featured. It is up-to-date information as “ Reported From Wash ington, London, and Paris.” And, we are told that: “ Russia’s divisions outnumber those that could be put against her by 4 to 1 or more. She has tanks in super abundance. Russia’s plane numbers exceed the combined total o f the West. Her atom bombers are only one or two hours from Europe’s big cities; barely 12 hours from the U. S. West Coast, 18 hours from the industrial centers o f the Midwest, 16 hours from the East Coast . . . In Army man power, trained, experienced, Russia cannot be challenged. In readiness now are a minimum o f 170 divisions . . . they are opposed by 43 Western divisions o f which only about 25 can be used in Western Europe . . . Tanks? . . . here, too, Russian superiority in numbers is overwhelming. Soviet di visions are equipped with 40,000 tanks, many o f them far bigger than anything the West has now. They are onposed only by 6,000 Western tanks . . . In combat planes, again, Soviet forces have numerical edge on the West, with about 16,000 planes in readiness compared to about 14,000 combat aircraft available now to the U. S. bloc.” Just yesterday (May 30, 1950) as I wrote, here in Washington, Secre tary o f State, Acheson, solemnly warned the Congress o f the United States that it is absolutely necessary to our National security to develop the entire military strength o f the nations west o f the “ Iron Curtain” into “ balanced collective forces” to meet the “ dangerous situation” cre ated by Russia’s growing military might. Verily, the scabbard of “ Gog,” the red rider, carries “ a great sword” ! (Continued on Page 26) T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S

basket and recover the morning pa per. Glancing at random over the front page, my eye quickly catches in one news headline: “U. S. Soldiers Battle Jap Reds.” In another: “ U. S. Won’t Use Veto to Block Red China.” In another: “ Russians [Reds] in Shanghai Estimated at 3000.” The main headline: “ Soviet [Reds] Of fers West Europe Grain.” In still another: “ Communists Display Seri ous Show o f What Reds Can Do.” In still another: “ 400 Planes Sent to Chinese Reds.” All these items, are on the front page o f a single issue. So it runs daily. Newspaperdom is literally covered with items concern ing “ Reds,” i.e., Russians, or Moscow satellites. Need anyone have to guess who the rider o f the “ red horse” may be? I am in possession of some Russian postage stamps issued about 1930, on which the “ Four Horsemen” o f apoc alyptic vision appear. I have these stamps framed and they hang on my study wall. I never look at them that I do not smile. With the Russian au thorities, God was to have been for gotten, and the Bible is taboo. But, “ He that sitteth in the heavens will
