Short Answer & Essay Test Tips In Chapter One you learned that there are many steps to learning: First, knowledge must be acquired. Thereafter, It must be retained. Eventually, students must also be able to successfully demonstrate what they have learned. If a student fails at any one of these steps, they have learned successfully. What are some of the ways students are required to demonstrate what they have learned? Tests and quizzes, of course, and oral presentations in class. Tests and quizzes come in many forms. There are short answer tests, essay tests, multiple choice, and true/false tests. All tests have unique challenges, but did you know that there’s more to taking a test than knowing the right answer? You have many, many tests in your academic future. Knowing effective test-taking strategies for all types of tests is a good study skill for high school and college readiness.
