Nats skin Panthers over weekend Yanick Gosselin guarded the Vikings’ net. The Nats skinned the Panthers 5-4 at home Sunday night with Paul Armstrong and Jeff Brett each firing in a pair of goals for Rockland. Matt Clifford accounted for the remaining single. Goal assists came from Brett, Matthew Clement, and Garrett Reed. Corey Camirand handled the majority of the goaltending duties with Preston Pilon subbing in as relief goalie. Scoring single goals for Embrun were Philippe Brunet, Ryan Carbonette, Cody Lavictoire, and Justin Raymond. Goal assists came from Tyler Jodoin, Kirkland Reaney,

and Josh Renaud. Aaron Cathcart-McKinnon shouldered most of the netminding with Danik Gervais subbing in as relief goalie. The Nats are in Chesterville against the North Dundas Rockets on Nov. 19, then come home to host the Gatineau Hull-Volant Sun- day evening.

Their Remembrance Day road game in Papineauville did not go so well, but the Rockland Nationals made up for it at home on Sunday by trimming the Embrun Pan- thers. The Nov. 11 night game in Papineauville saw the Vikings hammer the Nats 8-5 with half of the host team’s goals scored during the first period, while Rockland scored one goal. The Nats split their four other goals between second and third period with the Vikings still managing to get one extra goal over their competitors in each of those periods. Anthony Tulipano fired in a pair of goals for the Nats with teammates Patrick Lemay, Nickolas Spirito and Matthew Wilson ac- counting for the remaining Rockland points. Goal assists came from Lemay, Spirito, Wil- son, and Matthew Clifford. Preston Pilon handled most of the goaltending during the game with Sam McDonald providing support goaltending. Owen Frénette punched in a pair of goals for the Vikings. Solo shots went into the net from Mathieu Des Ruisseaux, Anthony Laprade, Pascal Leblanc, Jacob Osborne, Maxime Roussel, and Maxime Tremblay. Assisting on the goals were Laprade, Os- borne, Roussel, Tremblay, Justin-Claude Bissonnette, Joel Gagnon, and Alexei Gravel. Beavers put the bite on the Vikings The Clarence Creek Beavers chomped down on the Casselman Vikings in junior B hockey action over the Nov. 12 weekend. The Beavers took a 5-3 bite out of the Vikings Sunday afternoon at the Clarence Creek Arena with 43 shots on goal compared to 41 for Casselman Vikings Sébastien Plante got Casselman on the scoreboard first with an assist from Zakary Rodrigue during the first minute of the game. Clarence Creek’s Zacharie Car answered with a power-play goal four minutes off a pass from Tyler Pancel. Olivier Brunet, with help from Jean-Sylvain Boyer and Suraj Bali, clinched the first-period score for Clarence Creek a couple minutes later. Brunet continued to score in the second period during the last half of the time with assistance from Tyler Somers and Samuel Labry. Cameron Gallant, with assistance from Bali and Davis Goodwin, pushed the score to 4-2 at the end of play. Bali scored on an empty net in third period with an assist from Goodwin and Gallant.
