A nonprofit set up in 1995 by a group of citizens concerned about Pakistan’s poor state of education, Citizens Foundation USA has established 1,060 school units nationwide, enrolling 165,000 students as of 2015. To encourage female enrollment, 50 percent of students have to be female. tcfusa.org The Hunar Foundation, a nonprofit organization that builds tangible work opportunities for people in Pakistan, aims to “create a new cadre of skilled Pakistanis with intentionally recognized technical qualifications,” providing opportunities that can change their lives. hunarfoundation.org Water brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of donations go directly to fund clean water programs in 24 countries around the globe, with a focus on providing rural communities with access to clean water.
