This series of courses provides students with essential biblical and theologi cal understanding prerequisite to effective integration of the disciplines of psychology and theology.
RTHE 510 THEOLOGICAL METHODOLOGY (3)
An introductory course which reviews rational and empirical models of psychology and theology and their relationship to the philosophy of science. Historical/developmental, cultural/social, systems/data-based, and experien tial methods of interpreting psychology and theology. (Required.) RTHE 621 THEOLOGY I: THEOLOGY OF GOD (3) A study of God, his attributes, and the Trinity , including his self-revelation and the inspiration of the Scriptures. (Required.) RTHE 622 THEOLOGY II: THEOLOGY OF PERSONHOOD (3) A study of the nature of man, including his origin, the fall, and the resultant consequences of sin . (Required.) RTHE 623 THEOLOGY III: THEOLOGY OF RECONCILIATION (3) A study of the redemptive plan of God centering in the Person and work of Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the application of this salvation . Includes study of election, regeneration, justification, and sanctification. (Re quired.) RTHE 624 THEOLOGY IV: THEOLOGY OF COMMUNITY AND HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS (3) A study of the nature of the church, marriage and the family, parenting, and human community . This course will include a brief survey of eschatology.
(Required .) RTHE 625 THEOLOGY V: THEOLOGY OF CHRISTIAN ETHICS (3)
A study of Christian ethics in relation to divorce, abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, situation ethics, environmental ecology , and human control of human beings . (Required.) RTHE 730 INDEPENDENT STUDY (1-3) Individual work, directed reading or special problems in theology. Such study must be done with the approval and supervision of a faculty professor of record . The student is expected to submit a detailed course proposal and bibliography on a Learning Contract form available from the Registrar's Office. Required courses may not be taken through independent study .
