By Katie Davis O n what it is being considered as the somewhat of a “Survivor Series” for cities across NorthAmerica, Amazon closed the bidding process for its second headquarters on Thursday, October 19 th . Amazon’s announcement back in September that the company was looking for cities to bid for the second North American headquarters set off a bidding competi- tion across both Canada and the US like no other, drawing interest from cities of all sizes to be the second home for Amazon. It is not known which cities have officially submitted their formal proposals but previous reports have more than 100 cities and counties expressing interest in the opportunity. So why all the interest in being the home of the second Amazon Headquarters? Well Amazon has pledged to invest more than $5 billion and hire 50,000 people for its second headquarters.

In return, Amazon is likely expecting billions of dollars in tax benefits and incentives.

Amazon said it will make the final site announcement in 2018.

We know which three cities we are cheering for but the decision is now up to Amazon to vote on which city or region, outwitted, outplayed and outlasted to be the winner of Survivor Amazon Headquarters.
