They get to learn about the technology and about different types of rebates along with the different regulations and how sustainable energy affects the economy and everything in between. Currently we’re working closely with PACE Atlantic, programs in Colchester County and the town of Wolfville to kind of fund solar projects. So, we’ve recently done these presentations with both of these com- munities.
The Atlantic solar study was an example of a study we did to provide insight to the govern- ment and people with regards to the different aspects of the solar industry. We post a lot of information on our webpage and social media so people get the information that they are looking for plus when allowed we attend home shows, and other kinds of like trade shows and events to get the message out about solar and of benefits. SPOTLIGHT: With most technical and inno- vative industries like Solar, innovation and advancements in product technology is at the forefront, how does Solar Nova Scotia stay on top of the latest technology available and
communicate that to the members, current and potential Solar customers? DB: Most of the board members are with the organization because we have a general interest in solar and renewable and sustainable energy. Many of the board members do a lot of research and keep up on the latest technology by attend- ing conferences and events outside of Nova Scotia and then use our conferences, website and social media channels to communicate their findings with our customers and other members. SPOTLIGHT: Can you tell us about current incentives for business and homeowners that are thinking about switching to solar? Where can they find more information about these?
