Formulating a free-standing bi-layer composite solid-state electrolyte incorporating Al-doped LLZO (Al-LLZO) for solid state lithium- metal batteries Adere Tarekegne Habte *1,2 , Chun-Chen Yang 1,2 1 Battery Research Center of Green Energy, 2 Ming Chi University of Technology, New Taipei, Taiwan Solid-state lithium metal batteries are considered an encouraging direction for growing lithium-based energy storage devices because of their high energy density, good ionic conductivity, and safety performance. Bi-layer composite electrolytes containing Al-doped LLZO prepared with solution casting with 112 µm membrane thickness give5.6 x 10 -4 Scm -1 ionic conductivity at room temperature. The NCM811/CSEs/Li exhibited after 100 cycles a specific capacity of 125.35 mAhg -1 and a capacity retention of 98.08 % at ambient temperature and with the rate of 0.5C.
