Middle School Course Descriptions Middle School at HCA provides students with a strong academic foundation while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and character development. The following courses reflect our commitment to Christ-centered education that supports both core learning and exploratory growth.

6th Grade, Full Year Sixth Grade bible class covers a variety of topics found in Scripture and focuses primarily on the life of Paul and Jesus’ earthly ministry. Curriculum: Walking With God and His People, Grade 6 , Christian Schools International Bible 7 Required Instructor: Mr. Eric Jones 7th Grade, Full Year Seventh Grade Bible class covers all of the books in the Old Testament. It is designed to be an overview survey that focuses on the big picture of the Bible. Curriculum: The Most Important Thing You’ll Ever Study: Vols. 1 and 2 , Meade Bible 8 Required Instructor: Mr. Eric Jones 8th Grade, Full Year Eighth Grade Bible class covers all of the books in the New Testament. It is designed to be an overview survey that focuses on the big picture of the Bible. Curriculum: The Most Important Thing You’ll Ever Study: Vols. 3 and 4 , Meade ​ MS English Dept. English 6 Required Instructor: Mr. Nathan Schwepler 6th Grade, Full Year The students will apply language skills in the areas of writing, literature, grammar, and spelling. Our learners will analyze stories, identify figures of speech, and develop critical reading skills. Students will create varied sentences and organized paragraphs. They will also apply parts of speech and grammar mechanics rules. Curriculum: Spelling, Vocabulary, and Poetry: 6 , Abeka Shurley Grammar: 6 English 7 Required Instructor: Dr. Rachel Conner 7th Grade, Full Year The seventh grade language arts curriculum consists of the following major units of study: literature, writing, grammar/usage skills, and vocabulary enrichment. Students analyze stories, apply the elements of literature, identify figures of speech, and develop critical reading skills. Working through the writing process, students will create sentences, paragraphs, and compositions. Students will also study parts of speech and practice correct usage in their written work. Curriculum: Shurley Grammar: 7 Vocabulary from Latin & Greek Roots , Prestwick House
